Review Mistral - Boston

Great place with a great atmosphere. The food is delicious and comes in good portions. The service is also great. The Tuna Tartare is one of the best things I have had in my life. The peach drink (forgot the name) is amazing as well. The place can get busy so I'd recommend setting up a reservation. There is paid street parking.

What an experience. Beautiful atmosphere and our server was very attentive and informative about the menu. The food was spot on. (Half whole roasted duck & wild mushroom risotto is definitely a must try.) Pan roasted prime sirloin was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed every bite and we loved it here so much. If you are looking for a 5 star restaurant in Boston, this is the one!!

Food was amazing, portions and drinks were good as well. My sister got the $95 mac&cheese in which she was very disappointed in but loved her salmon dish. I had the Escargots and french onion soup for appetizers which was tasty and filling. Our server Hector is the best server in the world, very attentive and recommended great drinks. Thanks to previous reviews, I got the half whole roasted duck and it was delicious, probably the best I've ever had. Staff were very welcoming and I will definitely be back.

First time I visit this restaurant and since we arrived everything was awesome. The people are very friendly and makes you feel welcome. The food was delicious. The decor and environment is breathtaking. Will definitely come back. One of the things that we liked is that is definitely not a noisy restaurant so that's a top for us.

What a great place. We got to Boston for a last minute anniversary trip with no dinner plans in place and luckily grabbed one without much research. We were a bit hesitant as we never really went to a French focused restaurant and for some reason had visions of up tight atmosphere and small portions. We were definitely wrong. While we were exploring, people all reacted the same when we mentioned where we had reservations so expectations were high. There was a call to confirm the reservation and they asked if any special occasion. Mentioned it was our anniversary and they noted it down. When we got in they wished us a happy anniversary, which was a nice touch. Atmosphere was great, a very mixed demographic (across all aspects) and lively crowd in a beautiful space. Our waiter had spot on recommendations (definitely get the Cornish game hen) and service had the nice touch on dessert with a happy anniversary note. Drinks were also well made. Will definitely be back!

Everything was perfect during this dinner. The food was amazing, there were very interesting cocktails, I didn't have dessert but people who did were delighted by them. Escargot and foie grad are something to remember. Service was constantly checking on us, keeping our glasses full and even folding our napkins.

My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary here. Service is friendly and great! Very nice and cozy atmosphere. Good for networking or a date. Food wise, we recommend crème brûlée and the seared foie gras! The crème brûlée was just god kiss! Crispy layer of sugar and creamy inside. Not too sweet. Seared Hudson valley foie gras was deep in flavor. It is very salty so definitely save some bread for it. The appetizer bread with butter and garlic butter in oil was surprisingly good! The mushroom risotto included in the duck dish was really nice and creamy. The escargot was drenched in a soup of butter hidden in the holes of the pan. There are 6 escargot in total. But the escargot meat is pretty big. Tastes okay. But the duck is not worth the hype. Tasted like a Costco I rotisserie chicken. Definitely needs more seasoning 🧂! We were also excited to try the veal, but it was so dry :( i would describe as a really dry chicken cutlet but made with veal. Not worth the price.

Beautiful French restaurant. Staff is warm, friendly, precise, and professional. No stuffiness or pretentiousness here. That was a lovely surprise. From entrance to exit, you are tended to as a welcomed friend. Dress is business casual. This is a popular restaurant, so it is busy and bustling. Then, there is the food. Everything is a feast for the eyes which invites you to taste. Everything was delicious. A delight for the palate. Shelled mussels in a beautiful sauce, slices of bread for dunking. Thinnest crusted pizza with thin slices of steak, mash potato, onion and truffle oil, a fantastic surprise. Halibut over asparagus risotto and crab nage, tasted of the sea and transporting. Dessert was the chocolate torte and vanilla bean ice cream. Warm. Gooey and delicious. For drinks, I recommend the Maple Old Fashioned. Bold and strong. They also boast an extensive wine list. Last but not least is the smooth coffee. Brought to you with warm milk and anything you would need to make it the perfect ending to your meal. This isn't just a beautiful French restaurant. This is an experience not to be missed.

Very pleasant place, happy atmosphere, nice variety of food for a good family dinner or just a night out with colleagues/friends. Be mindful of your budget for this place, but otherwise I would recommend this restaurant for a dinner. The only recommendation I would have for the management, expand your wine menu beyond traditional French and Italian choices. I noted some Argentinian options, but there are so many emerging countries with elite wine productions these days…

We had an amazing time tonight for our anniversary dinner. Beautiful atmosphere, spot on with the drinks and incredible entree’s. I haven’t been to Mistral in about 4 years since moving back to the south shore, but this evening did not disappoint. Honestly this restaurant group is one of my favorites in all of Boston. Highly recommend. Great for casual drinks, business dinners and night outs. The only thing that I would hope they change is the enforcement of a stricter dress code. Business casual to high end dining should be the norm at this type of restaurant. I understand that leisurewear can also be expensive, but when you spend the minimum of $300 to about $700 on a two top, I think the dress code should match the vibe of the evening. Other than that, 10s across the board!!
