What a great place! We have been to Borrego Springs numerous times but found this by chance when we were looking for a parking spot so we could go to Borrego Days in the Circle. My husband had a hamburger and garlic fries and they were delicious, I had the Taco Salad with the beef and it was very good. The restaurant is adorable, and they have two patios so plenty of room for us doggie people. The employees are so friendly you feel like they are your friends. In fact after having a conversation with Sherrilyn we discovered we have many mutual friends. If your in Borrego Springs and you want a delicious meal and an inviting place go to the Red Ocotillo.
This is the best food out I've had in years. Who would have thought the best fish tacos in the world would be found in the desert ;) Spaghetti, burgers, dessert, everything amazing!!

Really good food and great variety. Service is always prompt and gracious. Relaxed vibe, outdoor seating, dog friendly. Small place, so you may have to wait. They are current putting in a veggie garden just outside the front door, so farm to table fresh is coming.

Fast service, excellent food, with fresh veggies and herbs grown right in their garden next to the restaurant. Very happy we stumbled on this place!

Yesterday our motorcycle group Las Quintas Roadrunners (Yuma AZ) rolled into the Red O for lunch. This was a group of about 20 bikes.(25 people)

They let you choose your own seating and dont make a fuss if you move.

There was a smell though. If i looked close enough, i could tell there was bug debris amoung the lights and amoung cracks and edges. Place needs to be cleaned more often.
Food was good. They made my burger medium. It tasted great. It was paired with fries and pickle. And i was served alot of icecold water. Summer sun was beating me after a ride in the desert.
The place had alot of charm. An airconditioned place within the desert. Its a good place to stop and rest.
The service was not bad at all. It was quick and prompt. I wish they could have put the volume up as i couldnt hear the the TCM movie.
Beautiful little spot with amazing outdoor views. The food is fresh and put together with care. This is now my usual spot for when I head to the AB! Highly recommend.

Quaint little oasis with fresh and high quality food for all times of the day. Being our first time in Borrego Springs, we were suprised by the food options in this little town. Summer is the off season, but there is still a good handful of choices to eat. We chose the Red Ocotillo after finding out what the ocotillo actually is. It's the plant that grows in abundance in this area and it's pretty cool looking. We stopped in for breakfast. This place is charming and quiet. There seemed to be one waitress working at the time and she was hustling all over that place. She was fantastic. There seems to be a separate menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner here. For breakfast we ordered for the four of us pancakes, a breakfast plate with eggs, sausage and toast, biscuits and gravy (I'm still trying to find one that lives up to my standards after growing up in Oklahoma) a breakfast burrito and huevos rancheros. The food is fresh, made homemade and comes out piping hot. This place is truly a gem. I don't care the price, because for this quality of food and to have the pretty views of the desert; priceless. My biscuits and gravy were flavorful and pretty close to what I had growing up, the pancakes were fluffy and delicious, burrito was well balanced and savory and my huevos rancheros were light but flavorful with killer salsa. Honestly, everything was really good and we probably will end up back there for dinner. The homemade potatoes were also probably the best I've ever had. I don't think you'll find ultra trendy foods or techniques used here, but the food is anything but stale and flavorless. It's almost like the comfort of eating at a diner, but minus the greasy and low quality food. I really enjoyed our breakfast and I'm sure we'll be back. Also, after having our battery die in the parking lot, the staff helped us jump our car and get back on the road. Thanks to the Red Ocotillo for the great food and hospitality we were shown and for our first visit to Borrego Springs, the staff and food will definitely make us want to return. Until next time.

Good food (tasty burger and ample club sando with bread slight too toasted), long open hours, refreshing shady patio, friendly service on Monday Feb 28th around 4:30pm—too early for dinner but plenty of lunch options.
