One of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to and perhaps one of the best restaurants overall in Boone.
The location is great. The inside of the restaurant inviting and the service fast. They brought an apptitizer to our table the instant we sat on the table. The food was super delicious and the best part was, despite the busy vibe our food got nice and hot.
The best part of it was how we got the lunch special for under $10. That is amazing by any food standard let alone on a really delicious food standard.

Outstanding food and service. Affordable lunch specials. I eat at Mexican restaurants often and this one became an instant favorite.

Wonderful dining experience. They have room for large groups and the ambiance is absolutely charming. Our service was quick. I ordered the camarones al mojo de ajo and this has been the best I've had at any Mexican restaurant. I also spilled our queso and they replaced it quite fast. I wish we were locals so we could come back soon. Definitely don't skip this place if you are in the area.

Came here with the family for the first time. We live in the area but have never came in to eat. My brother has a talked us into it. So glad. The atmosphere is nice and authentic. The staff was great, even though our waiter was on his second day of the job he did good. I highly recommend eating here if you like authentic Mexican food. đź‘Ť
This place is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Wonderful atmosphere. Super friendly staff. The owner loves speaking with his guests. Great dip selection, wonderful food, and attentive servers make this an entirely awesome place to eat. Hats off to you guys for being so great.
This restaurant has everything on its menu. Their authentic Mexican food is fresh, as is the seafood, burgers and salads. The food is consistently good. The service is hit or miss if you can overlook that aspect. There seems to be a few servers who do a phenomenal job taking care of the patrons and these few servers seem to pick up the slack for bad servers. I end up tipping out the server who picks up the slack to prove a point (which isn't proven at all apparently). There is a full service bar for any beer or adult beverage you desire. This place is huge and clean inside. I keep going back because the food is always yummy.
Food is outstanding, tastes fresh and homemade every single time. Management is always friendly and you can really tell they care about their business. The servers give some of the best service I've ever had and their salsa bar is a good addition to the restaurant, they have really good taste. Visit this place, from experience I know this place is better than the other Mexican joints around Boone. I highly recommend it.
Literally the best mexican food I have ever had. Was passing through Boone and really craving Mexican. But didn't want your typical bland usual Mexican where the salsa is poured out of a container into a bowl. It's usually really hard to find a rare gem like this... The salsa bar was so delicious so many different flavors, my favorite was the mango hot salsa (oh my god so good I put it on my tacos)
I got the fish tacos and they were so fresh and so delicious. My husbands food came out and the green spicy sauce on his burritos was to die for. I had to scoop some from his plate to add to my tacos. Excellent.
The service was great and the owner (or I assume owner/ manager) came over to our table not only to greet us but to grab drinks or anything we needed. Love seeing that. Excellent service.

This is a wonderful Mexican restaurant in Boone. Tex Mex can easily be hit or miss depending on where you are in the country. My husband and I had spent the last few years far up north, and we found this particular cuisine to be lacking where we were. Upon relocating to Boone, we immediately sampled a few Mexican restaurants, and this one easily falls within the top 3 in town. The restaurant is always clean, wait staff is friendly, and there are rarely long waits to be seated or receive your food. Speaking of the food, it's all delicious. We've dined at this venue at least ten times, and we've never left dissatisfied by our meal choice. I would highly recommend that anyone check out Puerto Nuevo! The food is extraordinary, and you won't find much better customer service at a restaurant in town.
Wow! That was great food served quickly. I loved the fried oysters—succulent and not over cooked. The baked potato was just perfect. If anything needed an improvement, the tortilla chips were “so-so.” And I did not care for their “bean” salsa. But fast polite service on a busy Sunday noon—super!
JUST FANTASTIC!! First of all, order the fresh guacamole made right in front of you with custom ingredients (and tip your chef!). When I accidentally forgot to order a drink and went to the bar, the manager himself came up and made sure everything was alright. He then delivered the drinks. The whole staff including our waiter were delightful! And the food is fantastic and will not leave you hungry!
We ate here on our family vacation and it was really good! They give you bean dip, which tastes like beans, I liked it. They also had a salsa bar with any type of salsa you like. The waitress was really nice and we had great service.
I was super hesitant to try a Mexican place that had seafood but I was pleasantly surprised! We were seating quickly and our orders were ready fast. The portions were huge!! We were all stuffed!! Also, you get complimentary queso with the chips (you have to pay for a refill of it). The food was authentically Mexican! We will be back!
