Favorite coffee shop in Boone, NC! I'm currently writing this from the coffee shop, hence my dedication to this place. Great atmosphere, friendly, personable employees, awesome owner, and an all around great place! Totally recommend there drip coffee, homemade doughnuts, London Fog, or Queen Anne's Lace (Latté)!

Found this place just driving by on vacation and wow!!! The most amazing handmade doughnuts and the best coffee I’ve ever had! The staff is so friendly and remembered us when we returned for more!
Great donuts, good coffee, friendly staff and odd looking patrons. Overall the best donut shop I’ve been to.
The hazel truffle latte is the best I've had. Definitely recommend this place. Service is always great and super friendly!
Is a really nice place to relax and get a good cup of coffee and really good doughnuts.

These doughnuts are the bomb! And thier carmel cortado is the best! Yummy food, great atmosphere, and wonderful service.
I tried Publix donuts and they are better than most donuts in town - but they're just not Local Lion donuts! Local Lion makes donuts with fresh ingredients, from scratch - like my mom used to make when I was little. She hasn't made donuts in a lot of years and sadly, she is gone from this earth now. I just rely on Local Lion for these fresh, made from scratch donuts and they always make me think of mom.
Visiting from Charlotte! The coffee and Lotus Cinnamon Bun were just so yummy. I could have eaten another! It will be a regular spot on all of our visits to Boone. I even scored some coffee bean sacks!

Incredibly good coffee and lattes. They have cold brew coffee which is amazing. The staff goes out of their way to be polite respectful and accommodating. I love it!

My son and I stumbled across this place yesterday. We were visiting from Mooresville for the day. I LOVE this place. Perfectly made iced mochas and delicious donuts (the Elvis ROCKS)! Will definitely be back!
You can't get any fresher than this. Coffee beans roasted on site. Glazed donuts with a bit of a bite.
Cozy coffee shop-full of people but everyone was very happy - some chatting and some working. People were kind to each other when they saw someone without a seat and offered to give their seat up now since they were leaving. The drip coffee and the Queen Anne's Lace latte were both great. We may go back Friday for gluten free donuts. The donuts looked yummy and myst he because almost everyone got one.
I love the atmosphere here along with coffee tastes. I am not a coffee person but even I love the coffee taste - fresh and flavorful. Gentle music and spacious areas are another plus.
Amazingly smooth coffee and amazing staff! Gluten free donuts are mouthwatering. My favorite flavor was the espresso dark chocolate GF donut, but try them all since they’re only $2/each. Beautiful shop, worth it to stop by and support a local place that has a beautiful mission.

Great place for coffee and amazing, freshly made donuts. The cheerwine glazed is incredible and truly tastes like cheerwine. The local lotus is not over-baked and is moist as so many similar pastries from other places are not. Last fall they had a limited edition “Ring of Fire” donut. These guys are glazed in a strawberry/Carolina Reaper topping. I ate two of these and felt fairly confident that I could handle the mouth burn. A little sweat and a little pain was no problem. What this donut also provides is a burn in your stomach for 6-8 hours after. Probably should have stuck with one and not on an empty stomach. This was one of the few HOT items out there that the strawberry (secondary flavor) stood out. I would love to see this come back.
came to stop by for a coffee with my dad and loved it!! super peaceful and quiet inside and would be a great place to work. had a nice outside seating area and sweetest owner :) had a good selection of flavors to choose from and fast service!
Love that this place had a drive thru - so quick and convenient! We got a few iced coffees (pretty good) and some donut holes. They were cinnamon flavored but honestly didn’t taste like anything. They had a great texture though. I bet the other donuts are fantastic, so next time I’m in Boone I will be stopping by to try again. Service was fantastic - big smiles and so friendly. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, as well. From what I could see from the drive thru, the inside looked cute - possibly a nice area to hang out or study.
The donuts here are amazing! We came back every day we were staying in Boone. The price was also very reasonable. The chocolate sprinkles and maple glaze were our favourites. Coffee was also great. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Finally was able to get by here for their Gluten Free Fridays!!! I was nervous because we got there about 1pm & I wasn't sure if they'd have anything left. But they did!! We got a mixed dozen & goodness gracious my belly was happy!!! I haven't had a donut in years & their GF donuts were fantastic!! I personally loved the cinnamon & sugar one the most. Can't wait to go back again!!
I have been back several times and will be back some more. I love their donuts and coffee. Plus, the place isn't expensive, especially for the quality of food, drinks, and seated area. They also have a drive-through if you want to go faster. The outside seating is amazing, too.
The best donuts period. I love the cinnamon sugar and glazed. I drive over two hours multiple times a year to get these. I hope local lion stays in business for generations. This recipe is so good.
