My Father, Lawrence Wilson and my Mother Lily Wilson were the Landlord and Landlady of this establishment when it was called 'Ye Olde Oak Inn' in the early 1950s and they left there to keep 'The Black Horse Hotel' in Blackrod in the 1960s. My sister and I spent many happy years here. I have many happy memories of Ye Olde Oak Inn especially in the winter time when we couldn't go to Fourgates Junior School because we were snowed in.

As a person who has been in the premises on more than one occasion in the past all I have to say is nice place, and great service, excellent bar service, and good selection of good quality beers and spirits.
A place in which I have never had a bad experience in the premises. I have to say that I have always come away very happy each time.

Great Veltins, nice people1. Breakfasts are great and very reasonably priced. I answered a previous question erroneously; breakfast on weekdays is served from 9am not 12 to 14.30.

Nipped in for a coffee whilst I waited for my partner to finish work. Rather quiet but I put that down to location and the time I visited (15:45 Wednesday). Great friendly service, very affordable prices. Outdoor seating!
