The Meating

Very good first time experience. Cosy comfortable relaxing place. Nice service and food came in good time. Nicely presented and tasted delicious. Tried classic, gypsy burgers, cheesy chips and a mixed grill and all was perfectly cooked. Brilliant clean washroom areas walk in with no doors....superb. Would defo go again and try more from the yummy menu.

Went on a night out with friends for a meal at THE MEATING in Bolton. It was nicely decorated, had a waiting area, good seating the food took a while to arrive but when it did it was good. I ordered the Smoking Beef Burger (Beef patty with chilli sauce, a slice of halloumi, slice of cheese, salad and jalapenos) with Chips and a Coke all for a tenner. When the meal arrived I thought it was quite small, could down that in 5 minutes so I also ordered a Chicken Frango Meal (piri piri whole chicken that has been marinated for 24 hours, with chips and salad) for another tenner. When it came the portion size was more generous. The chicken was cooked perfectly, however I personally felt that the piri piri sauce was too sweet and I found myself having to use half a bottle of the hot sauce on the table to give the chicken some more kick. 3 of our friends opted to be more indulgent that night, talking the talk and giving eachother the manly bravado of going for and easily completing the Tower Burger Challenge. This consisted of a 20 minute challenge to consume a monstrosity of a Tower Burger (made up of at least 6 white buns, 5 onions rings, 3 beef patties, 3 chicken fillets, hash browns, cheese slices, salad and all with a large dollop of thick cheese sauce running down the side) with chips and a jug of fizzy drink for free or pay £20 for the attempt. I can honestly say, that that portion size was huuuge, there was enough food on each of those plates to clog up your plumbing for a 60 minute challenge the following morning. Those that took up the Tower Burger Challenge complained that one or two of the beef patties were burnt/excessively charred enough to cause a problem going and staying down. Suffice to say, all 3 of them failed the challenge. There was one other little niggle (with the music played not being suitable for families) which was brought to the attention of management and they accepted the feedback, vowing to correct and keep an eye on it. Apart from that it turned out to be a great night and we will be bringing our families again in due course, because the food and overall atmosphere was good. 8/10 #themeating, #themeating.co, #bolton,

I haven't been here before, but was pleasantly surprised. Very nice food, perfectly cooked medium rare steak, lovely starters, and a nice ambiance. Relatively normal prices for this kind if food. We ordered the mix starter for 2, the fish starter, a mixed sizzler and a t bone steak. Even the drinks were very nice, we had the Pina colada and i cant remember the name of the other one. All food was lovely, and will definitely be going again.

A fantastic find. A well decorated and spotlessly clean restaurant. A pleasure to visit. Helpful but not intrusive staff welcomed us and quickly got us seated and our orders taken. The food was brought out in a timely fashion and was excellent, (my pictures just don't do the food justice!) Portion sizes were perfect. my son reckoned it was the best restaurant he has been to! Easy access and parking at the rear. I highly recommend the meating to all. I wish we had an outlet in Kent!!
