Over the years of growing up and Upstate New York St Lawrence County oh, I have been fortunate enough to visit the Adirondack Museum on several occasions. Is a beautiful location to say wonderful Museum and gives very interesting information regarding the regions history and natural history.

This was our first visit as adults and our first time here since they became the Adirondack Experience. We really enjoyed the exhibits as we enjoy learning about the history of this great area we visit so often. They have many exhibits and historic structures covering local history from the indigenous peoples to the early settlement by Europeans to the sporting, Olympic and industrial history.
They also have a fantastic collection of boats, art, trains, cars and coaches. The staff is very knowledgeable and they even had a boat builder making a guide boat there. One thing that really stuck out is how many kids friendly interactive exhibits they had. If you like history or nature this is a place to check out.

A very well curated and organized museum. A lot of interactive exhibits for all ages. I like that it is spread out among several buildings and outdoor exhibits too as this reduces crowds even when they have a strong attendance. The special and rotating exhibits keep the content fresh and worth returning for on future visits.

I visited this museum for the first time about 15 years ago when it was called the Blue Mountain Lake Museum. It is grown tremendously since that time and there are two new buildings that have lots of interactive activities for children between 2 and 11 years old but I believe it's a place that everyone will enjoy. They have sound activated exhibits that when you pass by you can hear the actual sounds of the different items that are being displayed trains old cars, carriages, and more. If you want to stay a good part of your day here I would recommend going to the original buildings first and then saving the interactive buildings for the younger kids as they will really enjoy those a lot. They have costumes for the younger children to dress up in and experience the museum in a unique way with different stations of activities. Sebastian is one of the employees who works in the mining center and he was so nice and energetic. You really need to come and visit this treasure of a place!! Lots of buildings to check out along with food and shopping!

This is a really different experience than any other museums. This one is actually interactive, and you get to see a lot of people wearing costumes, which kind of brings you to a different time period. This place is really great for kids, but it's definitely an interesting place to go without children, also.

Wonderful interactive indoor and outdoor museum experience. Fun for adults and kids alike. So many different ways to experience the history and flavor of the Adirondacks. Live characters in period costumes, hands on simulators, native American Indians creating authentic baskets and dream catchers in front of your eyes, real Pullman cars and train engines to crawl all over. Wonderful hands on classrooms for kids and classes in wood working where you learn how to make a paddle. A nice restaurant to take a rest and an amazing view of Blue Mountain Lake (see pictures). Definitely a fun and educational way to spend a day for the whole family.

This is a great place! A friend recommended it to us during our most recent trip. We had a day where we were expecting rain, and decided to check it out. So glad we did. There was a little bit of something for everyone. The taxidermy exhibit was really amazing. I think everyone in our group was a little scared at first, but as we made it through everyone really enjoyed it. Great learning experience for everyone. Definitely add it to your list of things to do when visiting the Adirondacks.
