Review Mex - Bloomfield Hills

I'm not a huge fan of Tex Mex but this place was pretty good and had an awesome ambience. We ordered a bunch of food lol. To start the drinks were potent and tasty. The chips, guacamole & queso were great for starters. I ordered the shrimp and mahi mahi tacos, my fav of the two was the mahi mahi. I also ordered shrimp quesadillas. Now this was 🔥🔥. We had a great time for Mother's Day and our waiter was great. They also have a dope wall of hot sauces you can choose from & take your table.

This was my first time since the pandemic that I chose to dine in. There was a lot of room and social distancing was no problem at all. The food was excellent and the service was excellent. I loved the design of the restaurant too, (I took a lot of pictures of this place). Our Server, “Derrick” was awesome. Try this place. I feel you will have the same experience. Keep in mind, one Reviewer said that the menu and food options were minimal, but I believe it could be from the pandemic, low staff and keeping the menu choices with a smaller selection is smart. Less people eating indoor, keeping everyone safe, and trying to keep a staff employed is the best choice nowadays.

Not a fan of Mexican cuisine, but since I have to go where the girls go lol 😆 I gave it a shot and tried the steak tacos, cilantro lime rice and all the dips 🤷🏽‍♀️🙉 They loved it 🤭

My wife and I had a great time at MEX. We loved the boldness of the design and colors of the restaurant. It certainly had a great affiance. They have a beautiful bar area with many variations of tequila lining it above. This was a dinner date for us and our first time at this restaurant. They have a simple menu with just enough appetizer and main course choices to not be overwhelming. The same goes for the drink choices. We both had margaritas, which were quite tasty. For entrees my wife had the steak fajitas and I had the mahi-mahi taco platter, with one of them being chicken. My wife only made it through a third of her steak fajitas. They certainly gave her a lot. I had no problems finishing my tacos. It was just the right amount to be feeling and satisfying. The service we had was impeccable. Our waitress checked on us often and was very attentive. This is the place we were gladly come back to for another date night.

I absolutely love this place. I don't live in the immediate area, so I don't get there as often as I'd like. Their new condensed menu still has some of their best items on it, so that's great. Their steak tacos, chicken burrito, and fajitas are all amazing. So is their salsa verde that comes with their chips and salsa duo. Their margaritas are always consistently made well and are really good. The atmosphere is fun and unique. The staff is friendly and the place is always clean. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the area.

Visited during lunch with my team from work and it was my first time and will not be my only. The service was great and food was even better. I ordered a build your own salad and it was amazing. It was the first time I had golden beets. My next visit I will try something different. I brought the remainder of my salad home and had it for dinner. Tasted better.

So good! We loaded the table with food and drinks, ate and ate until we nearly had to be rolled out the door. The margaritas were also creative, and delicious! We will absolutely be coming back.

Pretty authentic with an upscale focus without breaking the bank. I really liked the food here. More of an upscale feel in the decor than your run of the mill Mexican restaurant, however their menu is more limited. From what I could tell, however, all meals had by our group were quite fantastic. Even satisfying those who lived in Mexico City.

Service was terrible and the food was even worse. Seriously there was no spice and no flavor in anything. The beans were watery with what tasted like OTC hot sauce on top, the taco shells were over cooked in old oil and the salsa was basically tomatoes and onion roughly chopped in a bowl, again with no heat and no flavor. I asked our server for salt and lemon so I could doctor up the flavorless guacamole and he forgot to bring it. Later I asked if they had any hotter salsa and of course he forgot to bring that too then he said he didn't forget but had to help a co-worker clean up some broken glass but either way whatever he did finally bring was not salsa but some weird sauce with a very bad after taste. I really would not EVER go or recommend this mess of a place to anyone unless I didn't like them.

We visited the Bloomfield Hill location Tuesday and had a great experience. Lidia was the best server. She was so energetic and happy and we loved chatting with her. We did have an issue with our meal but Lidia and the management were on top of it and took great care of us. I am excited to return and try a new dish.

Beautifully decorated modern taco place with intriguing yet delicious food! Our server was very friendly & definitely helped take our experience to the next level.

Very cool decor! Delicious food! Get the spaghetti squash! It's indescribably amazing! Great variety on the menu. Kind of pricey (I mean, it is in Bloomfield). Chips and salsa are NOT complementary. My margarita was weak and I had to get an additional shot of tequila to add to it. 3 half shots was $16.50... I would still recommend it, though!

Totally loved Mex. The atmosphere was amazing. Our server, Jenna, was extremely attentive, polite, and totally the sweetest server I've had in a long time. The GM Tim was funny and very polite. We will totally be coming back at least once a month for a regular date night.

Loved MEX. My husband and myself had never been there before! We were there last night on a Friday night and the service was excellent and the food was awesome! Our waitress was extremely attentive gave us suggestions on what's good, and our food got to sell fast. Really fast for a Friday night. I was expecting things to take a little bit longer but they proved us wrong. We will definitely go back.

Long wait and the hostes had no clue, other than that .. food was amazing and our server was very friendly. The chips and salsa are the bomb! Hard shell tacos not so good, it tasted very Tex Mex or cheap Taco Bell. The guac and skinny pollo asado tacos were yum!

Being Mexican , I was really expecting “Mexican “ food but I didn’t find anything , they seem to play with the flavors and at the end the food is not authentic neither tasty , the horchata was everything but horchata. Very expensive for what it offers . I have been there before and it wasn’t like that .

My favorite place to get Mexican food! The chips, guacamole and tacos are the best. We always have great service too.

Great Food! Terrible service... Our server, Ashley HAD to be new. Totally forgot to put my order in, spilled an entire bowl of salsa all over us, had to get my order "to go" because we had already been there over an hour. She couldn't seem to manage a "to go" box/bag? Guacamole was awesome, chips awesome, my shrimp dish looked awesome - went bad in the car after it sat through church and ride home. Disappointing...

Birthday Party. Service was good Margaritas were way too sweet and not much Tequilas. The food was good. NOT much to complain about as it was more about the friends. No hurry to go back as many other mexican places with same or better food for less.

My grandson wants to try fried ice cream and it was exceptional. Definitely will go back to try other things on the menu.

Sloppy José Sliders, but an even better discovery was the Roasted Spaghetti Squash side dish. Oh! and a Sin Gin...
