Cute little ice cream shop with a few tables inside and outside. You can get scoops, cones, shakes, sundaes, all the usual. Plus they always have vegan/dairy-free ice creams available. The staff all do a great job and the shop is clean and bright.
I had the Oreo shake, my wife and son split a strawberry shake and our daughter had a scoop of chocolate icecream 🍨 - Super Good!
What a cute shop! They have a nice variety of flavors, many using local ingredients. You can't beat small batch, local ice cream! The staff is excellent. Even the music is fantastic.😍 The Hop is an Asheville area icon.
Only got to order the Vanilla but it was amazing 😍 hoping to get back to try the Pumpkin! The vegan flavors also looked amazing. So happy we stopped!
It's okay! They have several vegan flavors that rotate which is nice. They need to get some tunes going inside because it's dead quiet when they're scooping your ice cream - it's awkward! ✌️
The ice cream is so good! Love The Hop! We had vegan lavender with oat milk & vegan strawberry with pepita milk. The dairy-based flavors are great too!
Stopped by twice, so many vegan options, loved the muddy tracks, the dairy choices were good as well

As others have said, truly the biggest selection of vegan options in any ice cream shop I have been. The kid working was friendly and patient.
This place has a good product! It has a smooth, creamy texture and a creative variety of flavors with a focus on local ingredients.
We had no idea that there was a location in Black Mountain. They opened in 2019, and have a great little shop to stop in and grab a scoop. Classic flavors, and friendly employees. Keep it up!
Pretty nice inside, a little smaller then their other location but it’s in a small town so what do you expect. The workers where not overly friendly but they helped us with what we needed.
Stopped in today as we were out shopping. Split a waffle cone for a snack. First of all the Salted Carmel ice cream was awesome. And the waffle cone was one of the best we’ve had. Fresh, great flavor and had just a bit of a chew to it. We’ll be going back tomorrow for a full helping each. Lol
Kids were very excited to find a gluten free, dairy free (vegan) options, and even more excited about the GF cones. Loved the detailed signs and ingredients list on the GF/Vegan ice creams. Kids appreciated having so many choices and loved the chocolate vegan GF ice cream.
The creamiest, most creative flavors in Black Mountain. But their regulars are good too! The lavender honey flavor may be the best I've ever had. Good service and staff as well.
