Berliner Kindl German Restaurant - Black Mountain - Photo album

Like coming home. As a kid, I always looked forward to visiting Oma and Opa each summer in Kircheim. Nothing tasted as good as eating my Oma’s delicious Linzer Torte, or Opa’s spaetzle, schnitzel and mushroom gravy. The reviews said Berliner Kindl was authentic and I couldn’t agree more. Both of our
I loved this place! My schnitzel, spatzel, and potatoes were delicious, and the sausage and Reuben my family ordered also tasted amazing. All the sides compliment the dishes perfectly. We had a nice server who quickly came over and got a lager for us when we asked (we were halfway through our meal,
Love love love this place. We stop here whenever we come through the area. Excellent food and selection. The red cabbage is so yummy! I had the Bouletten. My husband had the spicy brats. The cucumber salad is absolutely delicious. The only thing I did not like was the spaetzle. It was different than
The best German food I've had in the US. I've been to many different German restaurants trying to get the same taste that I remember while being in Germany 🇩🇪 while in the Army. This place is amazing with authentic flavors. The schnitzel and potato salad is addicting. My 9yr old is picky yet she lov
I don’t even know where to start! Our server (Kat?) was one of the best we’ve ever had - and the food, wow! We’d never eaten at a German restaurant, everything was unique and delicious! The apple strudel I could eat every night it was so good!
We had a good experience here. My Rham Schnitzel and my wife’s Lemon Schnitzel were both good, but I would not call them great. The schnitzel was a little smaller and thinner than expected. The photo shows my hand to show comparable size. I’ve had better schnitzel elsewhere, but if you are in Black
My German husband was elated. It had all our favorites. German potato salad, krauts and the cucumber salad was great. Not to mention the brats. Will definitely come back.
The staff was friendly, the little space is very classic old-German, down to the oak wood tables and Bavarian landscapes on the wall. It was lunch, so I ordered the schnitzel sandwich with potato salad. Everything was well prepared, the tomatoes and lettuce were bright and fresh, the bun was soft,
Potato pancakes were perfectly fried and not greasy. Both the Veal and pork schnitzel were tender and crispy on the outside. The sausages were all very good. The Veal sausage was different in texture but tasty. The German potato salad is served cold but was very good. It had chopped pickles, which w
Wonderful spot!! The food was absolutely delicious and came out quickly. The seating area is very cozy and homey. Every staff member we interacted with was an absolute delight. Will definitely be back next time I’m in the area.
Stopped in for a bite to eat before heading back down the mountain after spending the day at NC Veterans Hm spreading Christmas cheer.. wonderful, quaint restaurant, serving delicious, traditional German foods.. Black Mountain, you've got a jewel with this restaurant!
The storefront was completely unassuming. The food however....totally the opposite. The lemon schnitzel was incredibly delicious and the beer was so good. Topped it off with the Kahlua mousse torte and OH MAN was it amazing. All in all, 5 stars for the top notch service and food.
A must have on your foodie list for Black Mountain! For authentic German food, come here! The food is excellent and the service is so welcoming, you won't want to leave. Highly recommend.
Great German spot, as close as you are going to find in the states. Good selection of authentic German beer too.
We stop here every time we are in the neighborhood. Best schnitzel around. Great comfort food. Always friendly service. Definitely be back.
On vacation in Asheville and went for a hike - needed a place for lunch and we found this gem!! So glad we tried it as all the food was delicious and just the home made meal we needed after a morning hiking. We tried the schnitzel, german fried potatoes & the cucumber salad - all were amazing. The s
This place is excellent. Clean, cozy, super friendly staff and tasty food at reasonable prices. I got the veal piccata and it was so good! Potato salad is perfect and desserts are also amazing. Don’t skip dessert!
As close to the real thing as you’ll probably get! Food was good and the service top notch. I took a star off for affordability. Very pricey for what it is but you pay for the atmosphere. Prost!
