Review Metro Diner - Birmingham

Idk WHO was in the kitchen today but I ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes, two egg breakfast with hash browns and toast and my daughter ordered the western omelet. EVERYTHING was perfect. Nothing was burned or overcooked. This was probably the best we've had since going there. And Lona, our server was awesome. She took really good care of us. Today was 10/10 on service and food. Awesome job!

As always, the food was amazing. This was our first time at this particular location and we chose to sit outside. The hostess turned the fans on for us and the shade was down so it was really nice out there and no bugs. I had chicken(half) & waffles with strawberry butter you can get it with tenders if you'd like. My husband had a Philly Cheese steak and he said it was really good. The portions are out of this world big especially for such a good price. My son had the breakfast burger and it looked great! I didn't take pictures because we were starving and people just started eating but I did manage to get a picture of the mimosas. All in all, a great family experience, with great food and even better service.

Food and service was great. Friendly and fast. We had the fish fry (Friday special). Fantastic! Our daughter ordered the blueberry and lemon Belgium waffle, and it was delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Plain awful!!!! I read the reviews and saw photos from other people that have posted, and thought, I think I may try it. We've passed by one more than one occasion, but never stopped. I am just gonna say, I wish I had kept going. What I ordered, and what we received was nothing like the picture. Turkey tastes freezer burned, stuffing was gummy, and the string beans were greasy. Beef tips were thick, dry, and hard to chew, my daughter said her chicken parmesan was okay, as in nothing to write home about, and pack in a very small tin pan. I used a 50% off an entree coupon for signing up, and my order was still around $40. . I went around 7 p.m., and I will definitely not do that again. I am so disappointed..

Belgian waffle, hot coffee, and mimosas. Coffee was terrible!!! Second to worst cup of coffee I've ever had. Tasted like hot mop water. Mimosas are yummy...I should've had a third one. The waffle was okay. They've taken a lot off the menu. Not enough options.

Our server was Brynle. She was sweet and accommodating. The food came out quickly and was extremely delicious. I highly recommend the bone-in chicken and waffles and/ or the croissant French toast.

Me and my boo were craving some eggs benedict on this fine Monday morning. I stumbled upon Metro Diner last night while looking up places to go. It’s located in the corner of a strip of other businesses. It’s welcoming with checkerboard floors, green backlit lights, and a big cafe sign with specials written. We even saw that they had a picture of Guy Fieri visiting. Not sure if it was that specific location, but still pretty cool. I was ready to be taken to Flavortown. Lol. We requested a booth, so it took a minute to be seated while they were cleaning. We sat down and were greeted a few moments after and ordered waters to start and some hot herbal tea. The fried chicken benedict caught our eye, so we got 2 orders of that and called it a day. Fast forward about 30 mins later, our teas never got there but the benedict plate came out hot and fresh. It looked delicious and it truly was…so I didn’t care about the tea at this point. The hollandaise was flavorful and tangy, the chicken was tender with a nice texture, and the hashbrowns in the side were perfectly crispy on top! The poached eggs were slightly overdone but still jammy, I think because everything was still so hot. Nevertheless it tasted good, so not a big issue. I got to go to Flavortown, so I was happy. Haha.
