Soooo.I haven't been to Magic City Grill downtown in years. Partly, because I can never catch them open after work, as they close at 2:00 p.m. 🤣🤣🤣 Anywho, I was off on yesterday and stopped by. I ordered pancakes 🥞 and fried chicken wings. 🍗🍗 Ok, so really the pancake and chicken was hitting on ALL levels. Man, the pancakes were huge and made with sweet batter and the chicken wasn't fried hard and guess what? It was actually seasoned. 🤭🤭 I was eating and patting my feet!😆😆
On other notes, the buffet is still around; however, because of covid, it's not an all you can eat. 😝 You can pick meat and 2 etc. Also, now you pay before you get your food. Your food is served in styrofoam trays with plastic silverware. The prices 🤑🤑 are still hovering around affordable and the service is great! Even with all that, the GREAT SOUL food is still worth the stop by!🙌🙌💯💯

Absolutely delicious 😋. I have never tasted food this delicious outside of my own home!!! The porkchops were tender fried perfectly. The eggs were soft and the grits were creamy. We live 3 hours away but we will back GOD willing. Thank you ladies again.

This place to me is a hidden gem, there hasn't been a time where I was displeased with the food or service. I also like that you can order breakfast through out the day. If you're reading this and haven't heard, go as quick as you can because you are not going to disappoint yourself.

Catfish was fresh fried to order, greens were amazing, and red Kool Aid to wash it down. This place is legit!

I feel like I’m sitting down at my Granny’s table when I eat at this place. Delicious food that tastes home cooked and loved on. Prices are great, staff is even greater. The rest of your day will just float right by after you take your last bite.

Visited today for the first time and will definitely be back. The food is fantastic and the staff super friendly. Nothing fancy, but great food.

So I go to bham to do some shopping and have lunch with my husband so we decided to go to lunch we googled food near me and this place came up right around the corner …..so we must have caught them on a bad day cause I’ve never received the treatment I received here people are rude (from what I observed) to people they did not know but anyway on to the exterior and interior very old needed updating and some sort of structure on how the business works cause if you have never been here you would not know where to get your food how you get a drink it was just weird ok so the food it’s your very basic meat n 2 or meat n 3 etc food was edible the fried chicken was pretty good and the rice and gravy but in my opinion it wasn’t that good

Y'all don't My Granny but...I had some of the best Chicken and Dressing I've had in my life here today! They offer a buffet of Southern home cooking...think all the good stuff...cabbage(also a stand out) greens, peas, mac, fried chicken, liver and onions...you get the idea. Tried as much as I could and liked everything I tried. Service was friendly. I'll be back next time I'm in BHM.
