In town for work training. Got there early, needed breakfast. And darn if I didn't luck up. It was amazing. 2 eggs over easy ( my preference) side of grits, 3 pieces of bacon I couldn't have cooked better myself, 2 pieces of toast and a drink...ALL under $8. Great service. Not busy at 8 am. Lunch is super too. Wow. Beats Wright's in Tuscaloosa and that's saying something.

Sol’s is located one block from the Birmingham Intermodal (train & bus station). The food was delicious. The price is not to bad. I usually post pictures of the food as well but I was hungry and started eating as soon as they brought the food.

Perfect place to pop in for breakfast or lunch. Friendly staff minimum, minimal crowd, and a short wait for your food.
Sols has pretty much everything which is a good and sometimes bad thing for an indecisive person like myself (sandwiches, salads, meat and three, etc ). For lunch I went with a BLT on croissant with Tomato Soup.

Service and selection is very good. There are a number of specials and menu items to choose from. We chose the Reuben and the Philly cheese steak. The cheese steak was so-so, not bad, not great and was served on the proper bread but it seemed to be missing the authentic cheese whiz. The Reuben represented a great value and was excellent. It's important to know that this restaurant is very near the new transportation hub. If I were a Greyhound or Amtrak passenger you can bet this is the place to be. We will definitely return to sample some of the other items.

Had to wait an hour to get our food. They had a full house so I knew we would have to wait but people that came after us got their food. This is sad for a restaurant. Would have given one star but the food was actually good even though it was a smaller portion than I though. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with fries(which cost extra for some reason). The sides that you expect to come with the order cost extra.

Well worth the six block walk to get there. Always packed, so you know it's good. Food is good burgers and deli type meals. Tables outside are in the shade, but remember to take extra napkins out there with you to level the tables and keep them from wobbling. Parking is the only issue I could see, but like I said, we walk because you'd be too full if you didn't walk it off afterwards.

Sol's always has great food. They have a massive menu and I guarantee you can find something on it that you'll like. The heat Burger is really good and the taco salad is good as well. They have a Cuban that they say is the best one in Birmingham and it may be now but only because the restaurant that used to be in the Innovation Depot went out of business. Don't tell them I said that.

You can grab a quick lunch and get back to work. Honest food. Serves meat and three and sandwiches. She had the chicken and wild rice soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. I had a hot spicy southern club with fruit. We were both happy with our lunch. About $20 for two and quick service. Only open Monday through Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm.
