The Physician never fails to impress. Today I took my family for our eldest son's 18th birthday 🎊. Truly outstanding food. All our many dietary requirements catered for with real care, attention to detail and yet without fuss. Wonderful service from our friendly and professional waitress. It was a lovely, warm atmosphere on a chilly April day. Highly recommended for all occasions.

This is my second time visiting and I am not disappointed. Came for dinner at this gastro pub. We parked on a side road, as there is no ordinary parking available at the front of the pub. We arrived 30 minutes early, however we were seated immediately. The service was attentive as we sat down. We had three different servers come over before ordered (we did take a long time to pour over the menu, as it is extensive). We ordered a beef burger, with caramelised onions, pancetta, Montreal Jack cheese with fries; and had the lamb pie, with creamy mash and vegetables. Both portions were large and very filling. Drink sizes were good too - a Dutch lager and a soft drink. Atmosphere was louder than anticipated, but changed time to time, as patrons left. Mood lighting which is nice. Lovely artwork on the walls around the rooms, which is a lovely talking point! Happy to return again in the future.

Great first time experience at The Physician. We've recently moved to the area and were in search of a local pub for us to go to and I think we've found it. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. The pub itself has a lot of charm and is very beautifully decorated. We came early and managed to get a table in the bar area without a booking but it did get pretty busy so booking ahead would be recommended. They are also dog friendly and can join you for a meal at the bar area. They also seem to have a really nice space outside with picnic tables that would be great in the summer. We're looking forward to coming back!

Recently dined at The Physician for the first time and had a great experience! The atmosphere was inviting and warm, making us feel right at home. The service? – a solid 10 out of 10. The food? – oh my god, it was to die for! Just look at the picture with this post 😍 I highly recommend The Physician to anyone considering a spot for both lunch/dinner. A must-visit! 👌🏼

Had a really lovely meal here yesterday after dropping our son back to his Uni accommodation. He referred to it as his "local pub" but it wasn't like the student pub I envisaged! Really beautiful place, huge and spacious, some of the features we're more like a stately home! Food was excellent and generous portions. I had Crispy Beef Salad, husband had Smoked Haddock, daughter had kid's menu burger and son (vegan) had the Basil Gnocchi. Service was great and very speedy, staff were polite and helpful.

The place is cosy, very well decorated and welcoming. There’s a big selection of drinks and the bar staff is very friendly. Last time I went with friends for a Sunday dinner I was not very impressed, neither the lamb shank nor the turkey roast dinners were up to the standard I’m used to at the physician (we didn’t even get Yorkshire puddings!!, the waitress was not overly friendly either.

This was an office outing. The service was great, we didn’t have to wait long to get our order. Freshly prepared food and large portions for the mains. Also, good variety for drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. But, very limited vegetarian/vegan options. Nice ambiance. Although a bit pricy. Overall a great experience.
