Heiko's Bakery

The staff was professional and helpful. However, after hearing about the positive attributes of the bakery on a KTVQ , I was very disappointed when I tasted the baked goods. I bought a variety of baked goods and they were eaten by 3 people. All 3 of us agreed that the products has an unusual taste and some left an odd aftertaste. I had looked forward to having a new bakery on the west end. Guess I will have to keep looking.

The staff was so friendly and personable! The sir that helped us was delightful, and gave me a great start to my day! However, the staff was the only saving grace of this bakery. The cinnamon roll was kind of okay, with an overwhelming amount of frosting, that seemingly tasted like the frosting you'd get out of the piping tubes in a gingerbread house kit. The donuts were subpar at best, with bland frosting, and a very dry texture; making them taste as if they were sitting out for 2 days. Possibly some of the other goods may be decent, but I would stay far away from those mediocre donuts, and subpar rolls. Luckily I only wasted $6. Won’t be back.

So what’s happening with the cinnamon rolls? My husband just came from work and bought me one, he also mentioned it’s a new ownership... it tastes old and probably was frozen, he ordered a Danish and the same thing, we couldn’t even eat more than two bites and went right to the garbage... we are not going to be back and will let our family and friends know to be careful buying from this place.

I Miss Heiko's! I worked for Heiko and Susan for a couple of years when they had a bakery in University Place. It was the best business I had ever been employed at. Their bakery products are amazing! They are above what you can purchase in a grocery store. Any choice that you make at Heiko's is simply amazing and delicious, You will definitely be back for more I miss an amazing loaf of bread.
