Ok. So this might be the best bbq I’ve ever had in my life. I know for a fact that these are the best hush puppies I’ve ever had, and that’s absolutely definitive. They were super sweet, and gorgeously crunchy on the outside. The pork was beyond incredible, chopped so finely and perfectly tender. The big shard of cracklin’ really was a chef’s kiss. This place is only open one day a week, and often sells out, and is kind of near absolutely nothing, but make the pilgrimage if you can. Yes, the man who takes your order will be strapped. Yes, you will wonder why you are in someone’s driveway. Yes, it will be the best Q you’ve ever had.

Quality BBQ! Drive thru open only on Saturdays, roll down your window, they write your order on paper, give paper to you, someone else will take your paper when you get closer to the kitchen building, they bring your food to you, you don't need to get out of your car at all! They have outside seating and tables under shelter just in case it rains and for when it is very sunny outside. Drive thru, enter one side of the property and exit the other side of the property.

Best BBQ I've ever had! Hush puppies are amazing as well. We moved to Mississippi 2 years ago so every time we come back Sid's is a must! I always get the BBQ sandwich no slaw 🙌🏼🔥 and some hush puppies!

Drive thru only for the present, very friendly staff, and the food is great. Smoky juicy bbq pork, crispy but soft hush puppies that were just a touch sweet, and the chicken was very tender and smoky. Coleslaw was the perfect accompaniment for the meat. Love the generous piece of crunchy skin that comes with it. Will try to come out here again!

Great BBQ! If you like vinegar-type sauce, they sell it by the bottle too!

I was introduced to this place about 4 years ago and ive been hooked ever since. They have some of the best BBQ in eastern NC hands down. Family owned business, they are some really nice folks and always makes sure their customers are satisfied. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I don’t usually post a review but this place is so good that I feel compelled. I first went to Sid’s about three years ago. I was visiting the coast and wanted some barbecue. I was getting a haircut that Saturday morning and was asking where I could find some barbecue. The folks at the barbershop told me that I was in seafood country and that I would need to drive inland a little bit. So when my haircut was finished one of the gentleman there gave me some information about Sid’s. He told me, “ Just go to the IGA (A local grocery store in Beulaville) and just ask anyone they will be able to tell you how to get there”. That’s exactly what I did. I rode my motorcycle from Topsail to Beulaville and stopped at the IGA and I was able to get directions I needed. So I followed the directions and almost missed the turn in. The reason for this is because the restaurant is located in a residential area and it is behind Sid’s house. A small sign in the front yard (kind you see during the elections) was the only giveaway. I drove in to the driveway and to my surprise there was a lot more behind his house then I had expected. Not only did I find the restaurant and the smoke pit there is also a small silo that you cannot see from the road. I couldn’t help but smile and feel that I had found a hidden gem. Once I got inside the restaurant I was reminded of my small town roots and as I stood in line other people came in behind me and there were conversations of, How is your mom I didn’t see her at church last week? and other conversations that you would only hear among small town neighbors. It was very nice. The food was top rate! I got the chicken and pork platter because I wanted to try both. If you get this platter there is a locals secret. You want to ask for dark meat chicken. I noticed people were asking for it and was told they were out. That did not stop me from getting the chicken but I did ask why and I was told that the white meat chicken tends to be a little bit dry and the dark meat is better. However with that said, the chicken was still good and the pork was fabulous, smokey and delicious. The slaw and hush puppies compliment the sauce for a complete flavor profile. The one thing I have not seen mentioned in these reviews is the pork skin. The plates come with a piece of pork skin, Sid And the staff know what they’re doing when it comes to the skin as well. Most probably my favorite part of the pig. Not everyone knows how to cook the skin. The staff was so friendly that I even got a small tour of the smoke pit. And I talked with Syd and his son for about an hour after I finish the meal and just let them know that I would be back. I don’t get many chances to get there but every time I have gone it has been the same experience. Anyone that is in that area and loves eastern style NC barbecue has got to try this place. Make sure to get there early so you can be served, because my understanding is that they most always run out around noon. It’s funny that folks will come and eat barbecue at 9 AM on a Saturday morning but that is just how good this place is.

A family run business, with a family atmosphere, is run with integrity and is supurb in every way. The BBQ is fantastic! I can't say enough. If you aren't familiar with Sid's, you may not realize it is additionally an eat-in establishment. Be there early on Saturday mornings, because they may run out if you sleep in, lol!
