Peter’s Carryout is a staple of Bethesda. Affordable and Quick but also Delicious. This is an old school small family owned business and unfortunately there’s not enough like this anymore. Seating consists of a dozen barstools where you can watch them cook. They also do takeout and delivery.

I love coming here, whether to eat in or take out. The steak and cheese is indeed very good and I usually go for the peppers and mushrooms. I just wish they would add a little more cheese?

Couldn’t even snap a picture of my food before it was gone - it was THAT GOOD. Fresh, simple, delicious. The cure all for a hangover! Ned and his staff are friendly, fast and attentive. Ordered off the staffs recommendation - 10/10!

Peter’s is special. The food is great—diner fare done right—but what makes it magic and drives loyalty is the people. Ned and company are masters at maintaining a vibe. Show up by yourself, never having been there before, and you’ll get gently looped into the conversation. It’s the best solo dining experience I’ve ever had—not awkward, just a friendly, welcoming little community. And yes, the food is great. The hamburger is straightforward, and hits the spot perfectly.

Dropped-in here on a Saturday afternoon for the first time and got a steak and cheese sub. It was AWESOME! Added some extra meat and made it a super sub, totally worth it. What I liked as much as the food was that the guys behind the counter were friendly, salt of the earth folks which I found refreshing. Not to mention, my order was ready less than two minutes after placing it. They know what they are doing and they do it very well. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this spot.

Excellent food and value for price. This is a wonderful counter restaurant that makes really good food to order. Have tried a couple of things and each time has been great. The packaging to go is geared to maintain the freshness and taste. Staff is friendly and quick to acknowledge people to quickly get you in and out. High demand items may run out at times. It’s worth a re-visit and to support this local business.

Always the best place for lunch. Walk in, sit down, ask for a steak and cheese with everything. This place will have you drooling over the gyros and asking for a 3 sub to go. He'll make it for you too. Just go easy on the napkins.
