Hands down, the best sandwich/ (and much more) deli shop one could ask for! Their weekly hot & cold sandwich features, vegetarian special & salads are always out of this world. The mother & daughter duo behind it all are clearly very passionate about what they do. You can tell everything is prepared fresh and with love. They also have an array of baked goods & breads from all of the best bakeries around. And their coolers are always filled with ready to go goodies, local dairy & eggs, and more. They also have some of their own baked goods, and, they do their own honey-baked ham that's out of this world. I am so thankful to have this family-owned business so close by!!! The staff is always incredibly helpful and happy to help. :)
Excellent place to get take out lunch in the Pittsburgh area! Incredible service where you can custom order and their sandwiches are so huge you can split one for two people easily. I agree the ciabatta bread is wonderful!
Phenomenal sandwiches, great interaction with employees! I ordered a vegetarian sandwich today and it was delicious! Lots of high-quality boars head food for a very competitive price.
Best made-to-order sandwiches in the tristate area! Their salads and lunch meat selections are great for a daily meal or a quick bite. Plus their employees treat you like part of the family! Can't say anything bad about the Family Deli!

Update: We continue to love Family Deli more and more. We have moved to exclusively buying our deli meat there and the fresh breads they stock. We also love their house made soups that you can grab in the fridge case. I also want to comment on the staff. They are all so nice! Even on insanely busy days, they are calm and friendly. The renovations look great, too!
We cannot say enough good things about Family Deli. We started ordering their fish specials during Lent and now I won’t go anywhere else for fish sandwiches. Don’t even get me started on the value...portions are huge.
We were delighted to find that they make their fish on every Friday. Call your order ahead because they do sell out.
We recently added their Italian sub to our repertoire and trust me, you’ll only be able to eat half because it’s so stuffed! We are always on the hunt for THE best Italian sub in the area and this is it. Their sandwiches and salads are not skimpy by any means.

Kim and her family are amazing. We actually switched to them for our large wedding catering when our original caterer just seemed to lack communication and threw away our menu and file when we postponed our wedding, and I think it was an amazing choice. She worked with us on pricing and the menu, and everything turned out delicious.
What can I say about this place?? It is absolutely the best sandwiches in Pittsburgh!!! Their side dishes are excellent too!! One sandwich can feed 2 people and quality is excellent!!! But most of all the employees there are second to none!! They treat me like I am family!! They are all super helpful but by far Dylan has helped me the most!! She is so helpful and great recommendations I can’t thank her enough!! But If u have not tried Family Deli your missing out!! Great experience every time!! Thanks Family Deli!!
