One of the best pizza joints in OKC...located on historic Route 66 across the street from SNU. Many pizza sizes to choose from and the garlic knots are a must!
Hands down the best pizza in the Oklahoma City area. Whether you go during lunch and order "by the slice" or in the evening and order a whole pizza, we've never been disappointed. It's not a 5-star restaurant, but it's really good pizza.

Ordered pepperoni for one and sausage for the other. These are fairly large slices of pizza (at least for me) so I was fairly full at 1 1/2 slices. I will say that if you're looking for a pizza with a lot of sauce, this isn't it. But I like it that way. I was able to taste the cheese and pepperoni too. Cheese was nice and stringy! Sausage on the pizza was flavorful. I liked the crust too, it wasn't really thick but it also wasn't paper thin. I'm normally not a crust eater but I ate the crust because it had flavor. I will warn you that the pepperoni makes the pizza greasy so if you're a napkin dabber (why), you'll most likely dab this pizza. As for me, I want all the grease! Haha.
Anyways, great deal. Delicious pizza. Will be back again.
Love this place. Great pizza, covered in toppings. Pasta is great and GARLIC KNOTS! Sometimes the wait is long, we always call ahead or get it to go. One our list of favorite pizza places, it's in the top 5.
Very good local pizza. ...BUT I have one criticism: not nearly enough sauce. Even when I order extra sauce, it's still so thin it's barely there. More pizza sauce, guys!

Absolutely the BEST. I drive 20 minutes just to get their pizza. It's absolutely the best in OKC. I'm disappointed every time I go somewhere else. It's just not worth it to eat pizza unless your getting it from Papa Angelo's!

This is my favorite place to get pizza, hands down. It's SO GOOD. My favorite is the meatball. Their lunch special is the perfect price and their whole pizzas are reasonable too. Joe definitely knows pizza.

Decent NY style pizza. I went there a couple years ago after looking them up on a site like this. I was impressed so when I moved out here I tried again. It was still good. I wish they served beer though :( I think its a good decent pizza, but like they say pizza is like sex..... when its good its really good, and when its bad... its still ok!
Closest to NY Pizza in Oklahoma. This is the closest that you can get to NY pizza in Oklahoma. It is very good pizza, and they use quality cheese. Some Oklahomans may not like it because they have never had NY style pizza (sorry, Pizza Hut, Dominos and Papa Johns don't count). The restaurant is run by a family from NY. The lunch special is also a great value at $4 for 2 slices and a drink.
Great pizza - try the empire supreme. Had trouble getting the entire order - ended up getting our garlic knots to go after reminding them again. The pizza is truly great though. Will order to go instead of dine in - employees were a bit surly with a couple of the other customers.
Great Stuff. We have only recently found Papa Angelo's while browsing around the streets of Bethany. We love the location, in a quiet old fashioned area that is reminesent of an older time when it was safe to walk around in a downtown area. Bethany maintains that feature! The pizza's are magnificent. Large and well filled with appropriate toppings per capita. (lol) The staff seem to be family ( I assume) and are always friendly and promt for service. Also had, on one occasion, the spaghetti and it was also very good. I was disappointed only once, when I ordered the eggplant parmesean and it was not available, but that can be overlooked once or twice. I highly recommend trying Papa Angelo's for great pizza.

Wow!. This is the second time I have had a pizza here and it is even better than the first time. I love the texture and crispness of the crust and the delicious garlic and parmesian flavor of the cheese. Fantastic! Will be back again!
Really good pizza. I love getting to Bethany and stopping in at Papa Angelo's. This is the kind of place I think about & crave! If this isn't the best pizza in the area I don't know where it would be!

Among the best in OKC. Real cheese, the crust is short some seasoning to be excellent, the toppings are quality, could stand to use a few more toppings especially for the money.
Reminds me somewhat of pizza I ate regularly years ago made by a man named Victor from Sicily. He came from a long line of pizzeria owners and commanded a large loyal following.
Overall for me, it's among the best in OKC.
Finally!. I was a first time customer tonight. I picked up a pizza and garlic knots to go. I think I'm in LOVE with this place. I cant stop thinking about those delicious knots and the fantastic pizza. It's greasy, but that's what I got for ordering pepperoni. And it wont stop me in the future either. I have found a favorite pizza joint!
If you like NY Style (and garlic knots), then this is the place to go. They use fresh ingredients and make your pizza to order. If you like Chicago style pizza, don't expect to get anything like there here.
Good, but not great. After hearing rave reviews for Papa Angelo's, I went in for lunch expecting it to be the best pizza I've ever had in Okc.
Unfortunately, it wasn't. The cheese pizza was pretty good, not outstanding though. The supreme was ok, but the veggies were not cooked. Kinda weird.
The atmosphere is great though and my kids love the old school arcade games.
I would return but I won't say it's the best pizza in town.
Favorite Pizza. Joey knows how to make a good pizza! His father Red makes the meatballs for the pizza and they are amazing! I love to order meatball and onion. You can't beat it especially for the price.
Pizza is a touchy thing for anyone. You either like real New York style pizza or you don't and you'd prefer Chicago style or Pizza Hut. If you like legitimate New York pizza this is the only place to go in Oklahoma for it.
Papa Angelo's is the best Pizza in OKC Bar None!. Don't be fooled by the big fat jerk who claims he has the only NY pizza in OKC. Papa Angelo's is the best pizza I have ever had in my life. The meatball pizza is my favorite. The entire staff is great! They knew the regulars by name, the next time I am in the area, i will definitely be stopping by! You will not be disappointed!

Authentic NY Pizzeria. Papa Angelo's, my favorite pizzeria in Oklahoma.
While I'm always on the quest for great food, pizza always has a very special place in my heart. Papa Angelo's uses a very simple method for their business, cut the crap and just make great pizza!
These guys are from Long Island, so we share a similar views on pizza, and conversation. If you tell Papa you like his pizza don't be surprised if he snaps back saying "whaddo I care!?" (although he's really a sweet old man). This is the type of place where you don't just order a pie, but you get to know the family as well.
The pizza ranks about 7-7.5 out of 10. For me this is a fairly high rating, similar to what I would give most NY pizzeria's I grew up with (this is a good thing). One of the great things about Papa's is you can always expect to get the SAME great pizza every time you come in. I've never had a pizza at Papa Angelo's that didn't taste as good as the last time I visted.
This level of consistency, plus their great neighborhood location (right next to our church) allows me to have great NY pizza anytime I want. In Oklahoma you can't ask for much better than that!!
Good pizza, funish place.... Have a big group? Try the Empire pizza here, it's huge! and quite good. Hand made to order, good ingredients, and all that. And I've got four words to change your pizza life forever, "try the garlic knots."
The motif is "college dive" but is really quite fun. Talk with "PaPa Angelo" for some good New York accent while you wait.
The lunch deal gets you two slices and a drink for $4.00, leaving enough in our college food budgets for coffee afterward. Although I've never had them deliver (right across the street, remember?), I've seen the Papa Angelo's van just about everywhere in the city. Their three locations are making it even more convenient to get good, cheap, comfort food pizza.

A great local favorite. Thinner pizza crust with a cracker like texture and overall reminiscent to say Sabarros. The ingredients always taste fresh. Vegan cheese available if you’re into that. Pricey but delicious. We discovered they have VEGAN CHEESE after we ordered. The garlic knots were great and their habanero sauce was AMAZING! We will be back for more!
