Horrible customer service!!! Called for over an hour and no one answered the phone for a pick up order. When I arrived, they were very nonchalant, told me that it would be 20 minutes on the order, I've been here for 45 minutes, just getting my order with no apology for the rude customer service, the elusiveness of the owner and waitresses, and just plain disrespected. I've been patronizing and recommending this establishment to the public for years, but not anymore. I hosted our family Christmas Dinner here 2 years ago. But, Boateng won't have to worry about me, my money, nor referrals again!!!

Overall atmosphere was nice and the servers were nice. The food is good but not amazing. The customers are very diverse as well as the staff. The reason for three stars is the wait was quite long. I went with two people and there food arrived at least 20 minutes before mine. I believe it may have just been the lunch rush. My food was hot when I got it. So if you are prepared to wait then you’ll have a good experience. It’s a nice little whole in the wall.

Been there a few times. I always love it but wife doesn't. (She's from Illinois) Fried grouper fantastic as are fried green tomatoes. Every thing I've ordered has been great. Wife don't like pasta & Friday they were out of mashed potatoes & baked potatoes. Fries were not edible. Her fried shrimp were very good though. They have many sides to choose from, just not potatoes. As far as Bessemer choices go it's well worth a try. If you go on Friday or Saturday night expect a 30 minute wait. Two words: Grouper & Tomatoes!

This was our second time coming here. The first time was amazing! The food was good and the servers had a great attitude. Second time around something was different. Every single item we ordered we had to substitute because they didn't have it (keep in mind we got there as soon as they opened) the server seemed like she was lost. The food, the food was not on point. It taste bland and we had to wait forever to get it. On top of waiting for the food we had to wait forever for one side that I ordered. After awhile the server said they didn't have it so I got something else. After another half hour of waiting for that the server said she was gonna give us a discount for us waiting. We went to pay and told the lady about the discount....she said for what. This is the last time we will spend our money at this restaurant. It's a shame that this happened because we really loved this place.

Passing through from Texas, looking for some good southern food.This place had an Old time feel. We had the catfish, chicken-sausage gumbo,mac and cheese, okra....Great food, awesome customer service, mac and cheese was old school greatness! Taste as if were made from scratch! Definitely would recommend. Prices are reasonable.🙂
