Chicago Udipi Palace was 1 star this is slightly better and so 2 star. The Vada was decent. Idli was chewy. Dosa was ok. Masala was no good. Sambar was watery. Chutney was edible. That’s it. How are people liking this kind of flavor I sometimes wonder.

The most OG down to earth community south Indian spot. Zero frills authentic and delicious food. Try the house curry masala dosa MIND BLOWN. also the Thali is a total classic

I don't normally write reviews, but as I sit here in bliss I thought I'd toss in my two cents. I just finished the south Indian Thali, which is a mega combo meal. It had five thick curries, two soupier curries, a sour/refreshing curry and a sweet dessert to top it off. Lovely flavors in each one. Highly recommended.

This was beyond all doubt the worst South Indian food I have had anywhere in the United States and especially the Bay Area. I could barely stomach anything here. The rasam was pure oil. The dosa was fermented to deep sourness.

I've never eaten a meal like this in a long time, even from Bangalore where I hail from I've never eaten such good Udupi food. I became food high; the person who took our order was very nice. There is no cuisine that can match Udupi. Blessed.

Excellent food, good and fast service. We ordered a plain dosa, udipi combo, onion masala dosa and madras coffee. Food was fresh and super tasty. My coffee was a bit less hot, but the server happily exchanged it for an extra hot version on request. Really appreciate the good service. Highly recommend it.
