Wife and I stopped in when in town and we were extremely excited to try this place. Excellent food here. You should definitely try the fish and chips, but also the steak and kidney pie and mushy peas! Cute decor abound in the restaurant as well. Nice ode to England.

Yum!!! It's like they transplanted a chip shop from the UK and put it in VT. Fish covered in a thin crispy batter with hand cut fries, and I had the mushy peas. Got a sausage roll to go as well.

A small unassuming place with a very nice staff. We loved all the food we got. Eating in was better than their take-out (which was the only way we'd had this before... during COVID they were carry out only). Fresh and crisp. Great Fish and Chips.

The cleanest friendly place I have been in a long while. The food was absolutely delicious. It’s been years since I have had decent Fish and chips. And this place was so delightful. Bathroom was immaculate. Floor, tables and chairs were so clean. I’m so impressed. We will definitely be back.

This place is great! The seafood is fantastic and nicely priced. The fries are a little tasteless, which is the only reason they get 4 stars instead of five (really, it's more like 4.8, but Google doesn't allow for more accurate rating, unfortunately). The place is small, so if you are going at peak times, it may be easier to order ahead and take it home. Really enjoyed this quaint British eatery!!

Perfect fish! Had fish and chips since I love fish. Haddock so similar to cod but a bit lighter and this was done perfectly. Moist and flakey with just the right amount of batter. I hate when I have to peel thick batter off to get to the fish. Perfectly prepared.

Wow! What an awesome chippy! Just like back in Glasgow. Fantastic haddock with the right amount of flavor in the batter.
I suspected it might be a hit. If they had fried Mars bars I would give it 5 stars! Awesome job!

Friendly staff and made to order food makes this place a great choice. I had the fish and y while my wife had the bangers and chips. Both were very tasty with thick cut fries and fresh Cole Slaw. Hint: the small sizes were more than enough.

I moved from England to NH six years ago. The one food I really miss is traditional Fish n Chips. On a visit to VT we found this gem of a place. Oh my goodness, so good and exactly like you would buy it in England. Thank You for making our day.

After a day of golfing, this was a last minute stop on the way home. Great little place and the quality of the food was really good. Would have taken pics but was hungry and forgot☺️

The best. Period. my husband, myself and his family have been coming here for years. It is a 45 minute drive for us. We’ve been to some of the best seafood restaurants you can go to in all popular vacation spots here in the Northeast but still, nothing compares to Lil Britain. Forever grateful for Lil’ Britain’s amazing service and food.

Best fish and chips I've ever had. Next time I have a craving. I will be taking the 45 minute drive to Benningtion for my fix.

We were over in Bennington doing some shopping and caught sight of it. Thought we would give it a try. Owner very friendly, place is clean and the fish and chips are worth coming back for. This will certainly be a stop for us when in Bennington!

The best fish and chip shop outside of Dublin.

My daughter and I stopped for lunch 10/7/17. We both had the small fish and chips, and it was more then we could eat! The food was so delicious! We will be back!

I reviewed a tip from a friend about this place today and happened to be passing through. Well worth the stop. Great fish and chips. The fish tacos were also quite good according to my date. Thanks

I have been traveling back and forth for work between Port Jervis, NY and central Vermont, wanting to stop. I did that today and ordered a chip buttie and with that, Some of their grocery items and a to go order of pies (3 each) as well as bangers (sausage links) and a tub of mushy peas for the hubby, who is English. Prepared 2 pies with fries and mushy peas for dinner. Yum! Next time? Fish!

Awesome food, awesome people! I just wish I didn’t have to use cheap plastic utensils when I eat there.

suspiciously tip-toed into this hole in the wall in downtown Bennington on our way down from Mt. Graylock... the fish and chips were one of the best i've had stateside.. they even do a mean curry - wish i could smuggle it past the TSA goons! if ever you land here on a maple-syrup tour, this li'l nugget deserves a pop-in...
