Review Anthony's At The Old Mill - Bend

What an excellent choice for a group to dine. We tried a variety of different foods. I have to say the Halibut was amazing. I would recommend the appetizers-calamari and asparagus. Clean inside and out, great service. I recommend stopping and having a bite.

Anthony's is a great seafood spot to fill your tummy for a few bucks. Go with your patience. I will get the rough stuff out of the way first. We walked in and waited several minutes to be sat because the bartender/host was chatting with a table in the bar. After getting a table it took a very long time to get any service even though it was very slow. There was a loud vacuum being used in the upstairs exposed section. There was a large 20 top enjoying thier Christmas party in the dining room. OK on with the good. The service once we got it, was friendly and personalized. The bread and butter was a great starter for the quick lunch. We each had a Caesar Salad. While the greens were cut too large it was a tasty salad with the presence of the standard Caesar flavors. I enjoyed a cup of the creamy clam chowder and a blackened rockfish taco. The taco was fresh with some spice from the rockfish and refreshing pineapple salsa. Chips and salsa were a good addition. My wife had the special of two blackened halibut tacos that wee consumed quickly. After all this food, an iced tea and one beer the total was just under $70. So if you go in with your patience and a wad of cash expect it to be a great meal in an upscale setting with a great view of the river.

Anthony's was a surprise and a wonderful place for lunch. The atmosphere was very nice and clean. Very spacious and did not feel cramped even when full. Service was kind and perfect timing every time! We had a beautiful view right out on the river and bridge. Finding good seafood is always hard. Anthony's instantly is my top 2, alongside Kylo's in Lincoln City. Everything tasted fresh and light, was not mushy, was not greasy, and had good portions.

Good location. Can walk after eating on the available paths. Ordered from 3 for $30 sunset menu available before 5:30. Clam chowder, prawns, creme brulee. They were all tasty. Service was efficient and we ordered a bottle of wine. We had reservations but on a Wednesday it wasn't busy

We came here for my father-in-laws birthday and happened to show up on their first day of all you can eat Dungeness crab! Absolutely incredible, fast service, large crabs, and delicious butter and Louie sauce to dip in. We will be back!

Delicious before dinner drinks, followed by our meals, perfectly prepared. Many delicious shimmery, berry drinks. I had the shrimp salad with Bleu Cheese. My husband enjoyed the lingcod entree. Lindsay was our waitress. She was new but excellent. Answered questions, found answers, and has a great service personality! We ate on the patio, dog friendly.

Two of my sisters visited a third sister in Oregon. Staci and Jeff took us to Anthony's and everyone loved it! We were seated at a table by the windows overlooking the river. Our waiter was attentive, but not intrusive. We shared a couple of appetizers - fried calamari and artichoke dip. Both were wonderful! I had the fried prongs with tempura batter. They were large and excellent. The ambiance was very good The fireplace was burning at the entrance, and the cobalt blue glasses on the tables were striking.

Had an overall solid experience at Anthony's. They had an amazing 3 course meal for $30 on weekdays before 5:30. It was too good of a deal to pass up! You can even add an extra starter for an additional $4! I am usually skeptical with deals like this because the quality of what you get tends to be different. I can confirm that the quality is still there. I love that they bring warm bread and butter while you wait. The portion sizes were on the small side, but can you really complain with a deal so good? We got the smoked salmon dip, shrimp cocktail, oysters, and clam chowder. Anthony's has some of the best clam chowder out there. Very creamy and delicious, I love adding the crackers for a crunch. I got the Northwest London Broil for my entree. An interesting summation of flavors. Cranberry on the steak, nuts and golden raisins in the rice, and broccoli. Surprisingly, it all works for a rather pleasant taste. My only complaint is that I asked for medium and the steak was cooked medium well. Service was good. -K

Excellent seafood here, I had the clam chowder and oysters which were of high quality. My family had the fish tacos which they loved and the deserts were also really good. I’d come back for just the oysters since they were a real treat

Delicious food! Great and friendly service, a quiet night. Booked an 8:15 pm reservation and were practically the only people there other than people at the bar. It was very pleasant. Will go again for sure.

I got the lobster fettuccine and it was amazing! I definitely recommend! The basil pom lemonade was one of the best lemonades I’ve tried. And the waiter was so kind and funny!

My wife and I have eaten here several times on her trips to Bend. It is one of our favorite places on the water where we can sit and have either a beer or a craft cocktail enjoy the sun and the ongoings on the river. Lots of interesting things to see and a good little stop in if you're shopping. Would definitely recommend this place for the food and the atmosphere. And always have had a great experience with the wait staff.

We had a delicious dinner with the most excellent service! The bread was so yummy, hot and fresh. My husband had the Steelhead with rice pilaf. I had the seasonal salad with a dill vinaigrette and the appetizer of lobster, artichoke and shrimp dip was my favorite! We highly recommend it!

Love love love coming here. Been coming here for years and always enjoy it (if you can, sit in Anna’s section. She never disappoints and is super sweet). The food is amazing. Drinks are always strong. Great assortment of wines and beautiful scenery. The menu does change seasonally so it can be hard to get attached to some of their desserts as they are not always the same (but good if you like adventure and variety). Restaurant is River front views and also outdoor seating available with a fire pit. Happy hour is indeed always happy! 😂 Clean areas and beautiful and spacious atmosphere. A little spendier but expected with a seafood restaurant (seafood is brought in daily via truck). Stop in if you get a chance! Keep up the great work!

The food here was OK, salmon was dry and bland, garlic shrimp was overcooked, calamari was cut so small it was hard to eat as a finger food appetizer but the deserts were very good as well as the clay chowder and Cesar salad. Service was also very good. I have eaten here 3 times now, and I guess the lower quality food is why there are large gaps between my visits, long enough to forget.

Our 45th wedding anniversary and it was amazing! The food was full of flavor and our waitress Hailey was so kind and gracious. Couldn't have been any better. Highly recommend the clam chowder was the best we've ever had.

Anthonys has always been a great place to have a nice upscale dinner. I can only hope that our anniversary visit Sunday night was a fluke. We were promptly seated at a nice window table with a view of the bridge and river. I noticed that the menu seemed smaller and rather limited in its offerings. Our waitress was the only wait person on that night but there were only 6 tables in use. She brought us water and took our drink orders, returning with only my coffee , usually superior but bitter and average tonight , 5 minutes later. After 10 more minutes and 4-5 trips past our table my wife still had not received her wine sampler or our bread basket and we flagged her down. The wine arrived a few minutes later..... but not the bread. It finally arrived later with out salads. Our meals were VERY good but that is all that was good for the experience. We know we will be spending well over $100 for 2 meals and a 20 % tip but we may need to find a restaurant that isnt cutting corners

The hostess was rude the server did not acknowledge our needs or that our drinks were empty. The positive things was the water server was nice and kept water glass full. The appetiser was not worth the fee so......we called the other guests that were to meet up for dinner and we went elsewhere. I am from Montana and my local hostess will never bring other guests to Anthony's.

Just had the best seafood we have had in a long time, the oyster’s are back and at fresh as can be. Chef Gavin is one of the best and his crew are fantastic. We’ll be back soon

Waited 15 minutes passed our reservation time to be seated at our table. Then it took another 15 minutes before they took our order. An hour and a half later we received our food and was out after over two hours of sitting in the most uncomfortable wooden chairs. The view was great as we got to sit by the windows watching the people stroll by the river and the food was excellent. Service is what was lacking. It was a bit busy for a Monday but my complaint is with the service and not the food.

Fantastic dinner, we all agree the halibut cakes are melt in your mouth! Service was genuine and personalized, thank you!

First I will say that we did not get to eat here. We arrived about 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, and according to OpenTable, wait times are typically about 15 minutes at that time. My daughter and I had been shopping in Spokane, in from Pullman where she attends college, and I was over from Vancouver, Washington visiting her. We parked in the back, took some pictures of the waterfall and Powerhouse, where the huge windows are overlooking the water, we could see inside the restaurant where there was a few tables filled, but many empty tables. We went around the front, had the doors opened by two very polite young men, went to the hostess station, the hostess there asked if we had a reservation, we said no, and she said, "oh, well we're full, and have a lot of reservations so the wait time is going to be at least an hour." She was very rude, very snotty, it seems she'd seen a few too many episodes of Sex in the City and was a little power hungry. We just turned and left. We ended up going to the Barrel, where we were promptly seated in the almost-full restaurant and had a wonderful time, with a friendly server, and it was delicious. I have no time for rudeness or people with fake airs. Not impressed. I think maybe you should find a hostess with some manners and customer service skills.

Food and service......perfection. We loved our server Tyler. The Old Mill area is pretty new and Touristy, so we were pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. If you are in Bend and want great, fresh seafood, this the place for you❤️
