I went here for lunch a while ago and I didn't like the menu because of my low carb diet so I hadn't returned. Then I returned recently for dinner. I was very happy w the dinner menu, I told the waitress I just wanted the dinner without the rice or potatoes and would just take extra salad. She came back with my dinner, I had the salad and the chef had made me zucchini noodles! I was so impressed that they would take time out and do that for me! I almost cried lol! Most places are so rigid about that stuff, but they did it without even asking <3 . The food was absolutely delish! I also loved the candlelit atmosphere, very nice for a date night :)

The best scallops I have had in ages. Perfectly cooked and prepared. I cannot stop thinking about them. Interesting selection, pleasant atmosphere, attentive staff. We will be back and probably bring others. Oh, by the way, you get what you pay for. A lovely addition to downtown BF :)

I've now been to Popolo twice, and both times I was extremely impressed with the care and quality of the food as well as the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. This is a quality restaurant, folks, so if you haven't been, please do yourselves a favor.

I love the atmosphere in this place. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive but not bothersome. The food. Is. Amazing! The hot artichoke fonduta was incredible as an appetizer. The steak I had was cooked perfectly with incredible flavor. The meal presentation made it all the more appetizing. Another great meal here. I will be back again and again.

We had an AWESOME Easter Brunch here today ! It was our first time dining here but it won't be our last !!! Food , staff ,ambiance all 5 stars ,well worth our 25 minute drive , our only complaint is we wished we had dined here sooner. Thanks for a great meal!!!

I went here with family earlier tonight for a Mothers Day dinner, and was nothing short of blown away. I got the calamari and it was cooked perfectly, probably the best I've ever had! Very personable waitress, wonderful service and the price was cheaper than one would expect for the quality we received. Overall great experience. Thank you so much!

Probably the only place I've rated 5 stars. The food is the best. Atmosphere is amazing and what they stand for is an example to follow. I am saddened that they lost John Michael, but what can you do. Really, this is the only place to bring someone to eat. Amazing restaurant with exciting menus.

The hanger steak and hand cut fries are AMAZING! Not to mention the BlackBerry margarita I had... and what a relaxing setting with kind staff. Just the thing to end your work week with. I'll be back for more!

Our favorite restaurant in all of Vermont. The staff, food and atmosphere are all great. So much so that we had our wedding reception there!

The ambiance here is beautiful, service was nice, however the food could use some work... especially at this price point. The bread on the caprese appetizer/ the appetizer as a whole is bland, bread tastes borderline stale. Brussels app was the best thing there. Fettuccine was fairly dry and just okay. Not much flavor. Tomato soup had big pieces of raw onion on top as a garnish, as a whole was not good. All together the food is lacking a depth of flavor, this place could be great and being a small town we really love to support our local businesses. Unfortunately this probably won't be a spot that we frequent. We hope the owner will take everything into consideration and would love to see this business flourish.

We had the most wonderful evening at Ciao Popolo; what a beautiful and welcoming restaurant! The food was delicious and fresh; and the atmosphere charmed us the moment we entered the door. Darlene gave us a warm welcome and helped us choose from a tempting and varied menu; she prepares the food and proudly offers wonderful authentic Italian food. I had the Farfalle with Lemon Cream Sauce and seared scallops, it was delicious; bright fresh tasting and the scallops were done perfectly. The desserts were also very good (the Flourless Chocolate Cake was the best I've ever had, and the portion was generous enough to share). The waitstaff was amazing; James was attentive and personable, and his timing was spot on. He, and all the waitstaff, added to the memorable meal. We love everything about this place and look forward to coming back!

We were greeted by the proprietor and servers upon entering. The interior decor was welcoming and beautifully furnished. The menu was not overwhelming, focused toward dishes that could be vegetarian and/or adorned with a selection of protein. The serving size was enough to feel satisfied and asking yourself "should you have more?" Every bite of our meal was delicious. The subtle flavors that provided undertones to the sauces were always there to finish the swallow and encourage the diner to have one more bite. " Is that lemon zest? Is that a cardamom or quite possibly star anise?" Questions that only a person could ask their partner at the table, our chef remained marvelous and aloof. Yuri our server was delightful, affable and fabulous. Thank you for being open on a Thursday, we had heard some local reviewer couldn't stomach the view from your terrace, but the interior was perfect. Look forward to what comes next as the space develops and becomes the vision Ciao Popolo intends it to become.

Just popped in for an early dinner and the staff could not have been more accommodating. We met the owner and chef, the wait staff was attentive, bubbly and thoughtful. The atmosphere in the restaurant was beautiful, with fresh flowers and candles on each table. My husband and I wish the new owners all of the best as they made us feel incredibly welcomed and part of the family.

Came here for Brunch and Popolo's didn't disappoint. Started off with a wonderful Bloody Mary and we were off! For Brunch, I had the Sausage and Chedder Omelet and that was really good. Some nice fruit made it fresh as well. Our server, James, was fantastic. I highly recommend Ciao Popolos!

Food and service were excellent. I had the steak. It comes served sliced thick like London broil is served. Was cooked perfect, but I thought the portion of steak was small.( To me it was about half of a regular steak.say like a regular sirloin cut) Came with great fries and good portion. All was delicious. Top notch service.

We made dinner reservations the week before and I'm glad we did. Busy Valentine's night! However, the food was delicious and just portioned correctly. We were not overlyfull and could enjoy dessert. If you're looking for an atmospheric yet cozy restaurant with delicious food, I highly recommend Popolo

It’s been over a week since we ate at Popolo, but I’ve thought about that meal several times. That’s the sign of a great meal. The food portions were perfect, the freshness made a difference, and we especially loved the whipped lemon ricotta crostini’s. OMG!! The waitress was nice as could be and added to the nice vibe of the restaurant. Highly recommend this great restaurant.

Popolo has been my favorite spot in this area ever since it opened! The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and although the food is fancy, you don't have to dress up to enjoy your meal! Excellent drinks, menu that changes with the seasons, and great service make this a unique and tasteful spot!

Really enjoyed the atmosphere. It was the way I like it. Loud with conversation, tinkling glassware, plates and utensils. All the friendly sounds one expects at a popular place filled with happy diners. The service is prompt, pretty smooth in execution, i.e absolutely no problems with the orders, and timely deliveries to the right customer along with the food arriving hot to the table. Of course the food was great, North Italian in style (love that) and other fares in which local and nearby farmers and purveyors are the preferred sources. Loved the steamed mussels.

My friend and I didn't have a reservation, but they were still able to get us a table within 20 minutes on a Friday night. Very accommodating - my friend needed plain pasta due to a health issue and I opted for sides as I didn't want a big meal. Food was delicious. The fresh rustic bread they serve with olive oil is carb heaven. A tangy flavor, soft pillowy interior and nicely browned crust. Wait staff was very friendly, too.
