Review The Nest - Bellflower

So I use to come here often but moved to a different county and haven't been here in almost three years but it HAS NOT missed a beat! Maybe even more delicious than I remember! The Mint mojito coffee was a great starter. The servers are GREAT. Offered everyone in line home fries for free while we waited. Once inside, was checked on by the owner often which was just a nice touch. My mother in law ordered shrimp abs grits which I've had before and thought was delicious, she said it was slightly sweet but was a nice touch. My wife ordered the breakfast poutine and that gravy with a over easy egg was scrumptious, I mean I almost liked it more than mine! I ordered the Beef Short rib hash that came with a savory horseradish sauce so it adds a slight tart/bitter, don't know how to describe it but I mean it was absolutely delicious. Easily my favorite breakfast place. So many options and the food was wonderful. I also got the custard French toast, I'm not a fan of French toast at all but I enjoyed this. Wouldn't order it as a stand alone dish, but it was like a nice desert at the end.

I joined the wait list on Yelp, which helped as there was a line. There is only a few parking spots behind the building, we had to park down the street on Alondra. It is very small inside and the music is loud, too loud in my opinion. They have local art pieces on the wall for sale. Collectively we ordered the custard French toast with sausage patties, pancakes with bacon, short ribs w eggs, potatoes and side of fruit. We enjoyed all of the food which were large portions. I also ordered the iced coffee flight and a regular coffee. The staff was friendly and we did not have to wait long. The coffee as well as the flight were meh, wouldn't order again.

5 stars for ambiance, service, food, and cost. I love the music they place while I enjoy my meal. Service is friendly and attentive, not overly so. Food is DELICIOUS. Their pancakes were melting in my mouth, and the veggie scrabble has a hearty portions of veggies! Also, the cost is low. So awesome to find a place that has great food at a low price when everything else is increasing. Some other recommendations are their gravy biscuit and chilaquiles.

Excellent vibe and service. The parking was scarce and the wait was as long as anticipated. Music: Lots of Michael Jackson played during our visit. There are many food options and they all were visually appealing. With many breakfast spots, the carbs are in abundance. If you are seeking turkey bacon, you will not find it here. However, they have other novel selections such as the flight of flavored ice coffees (check out the pictures). Not too sweet with the hint of tasty flavors: blackberry, raspberry and mint (one of each). Custard French Toast: Gooooodness, the portion was huge. I was only able to eat 1/4. It was not heavily yoked like some French toast and the almonds were the perfect addition. Note: There are other topping options in case you have food allergies. Grits: I ordered the grits as my side. The portion was perfect. The texture was very creamy. The taste was unique. I cannot figure it out but look forward to trying it again, maybe with some added toppings. Churro Waffles: A delightful waffle with cinnamon goodness. It does not come with syrup. We found a simple drizzle of syrup adds great flavor. Tips: Get on the list in advance. Allow time for parking. Some people waited for others to come out to get a spot. Don't sit under the speaker, it becomes difficult to hear your guest. You can pay the bill on your phone with the QR Code.

If you are debating of eating at this breakfast joint I’d recommend that you don’t. I have been recommended this place by many people. Well I decided to try it out. I had been told that parking was limited, which it was. I had go park across the street but was able to find a spot. Second, the wait will be long. You can go to the restaurant and put your name down and wait approximately one hour or you can join the list via yelp. The issue is that there is a line because there is also limited seats. I felt uncomfortable by how cramped the place felt. The place was dirty, dusty, and the napkins that we received were already dirty. The menu is quite limited and honestly made me loose my appetite nothing seemed to grab my attention. I decided to play it safe and get the pancakes and eggs. The pancakes were half hard and just tasted like any ordinary pancake. The eggs on the other side were good. I also got to try the churro waffle that was good but just seems as a dessert and not a breakfast plate. I also ordered a “large OJ” which was $8 dollars and was probably the worse OJ I have had, plus it was just a normal cup nothing large about it. So to those that are debating this place, just go elsewhere. The wait is not for being good, it’s for being a small establishment.

I heard of this spot thru my nephew, stated there's always a long wait, we went today and had to wait about 30mins, but let me say it was so worth it! Had the chilaquiles they were delicious! We also ordered the french toast, apple juice, coffee flight (a must) and the cold Brew.

Service was exceptional. Our server noticed the table was wobbly and she went out of her way to fix it for us. It’s rare that you find a place where the food is as delicious as it looks in pictures, but all the food we had was amazing. We started texting other people that they needed to try this restaurant while we were still eating.

I really like this place. The food was good and the vibe was equally matched. Our waitress was very nice and the food didn’t take long to come out. We had the shrimp grits, the breakfast poutine. They also give you a sample of one other select item on the menu. Now with all of that being said, the wait was about an hour on a Saturday morning. The restaurant is a tad bit small and the occupancy is 40, so that could have something to do with it. We’ll definitely be back soon to tryout more items on the menu.

I have gone to The Nest plenty of times and each time I go, it reifornces my love for the place. Everything about this place is great. It is getting quite busier but I feel like the owner and the staff deserve the recognition for what they have going for them. I usually order different things since everything is delicious but the steak plate and the tres leches French toast are my favorites. I also love this ice coffee drinks, especially the mint mojito.

This is my go to breakfast joint! The service, the ambiance, the food... Small plates... Mmmmmm... always makes me smile. The fried biscuit and gravy is mandatory! The Chilaquiles amazing! But always I love the bacon waffle! Honestly everything on the menu is well executed and the service is always tops! The owner has got to be one of the hippest and coolest individuals on the premises always personally greets or offers a smile to anyone in or around his place! The interior of the restaurant is just a great space always accompanied with the music to boot... I love this joint and I will always drop by here when in need for a great breakfast or just a good smile and awesome tunes!

So my co worker and I were looking for a good breakfast place for lunch. We yelp and this place had high ratings. So we went and had the chiliquies and the breakfast sandwich. Much to our surprise it was out of this universe. So delish I plan on putting this place on my top 5 list.

We were there on a Tuesday around 10 a.m. there was a bit of a wait but once we ordered, our food came quickly. The server was friendly and efficient she knew the menu well and made some good recommendations. The food was flavorful and very delicious. Extra plus for having almond milk for this non dairy chica.

We went on a Tuesday morning and there was a 25 min wait which was not bad. The place is small but cozy and the staff was really friendly. The food was GREAT. Bacon waffle is a must have and fresh squeezed OJ as well. Highly recommend it

Delicious food! I went with my Besties and we loved everything! The Chika-What-What's gave you that authentic Mexican spice. Shrimp and Grits, Bacon Waffle, French toast, Three little pig scramble were delicious and each one comes with a tasty small plate (side order). The home fries were great, too. Even the coffee was great: regular and iced.. They had a little snafu with the hand held ordering gizmo, but the owner Antonio, our Server Lety, Onnie and Selma took care of us. Will go back, again!

My first time and certainly won’t be my last! I ordered the shrimp and grits... amazing! The coffee flights are an adorable concept too! I must say though, that the customer service made this place such a pleasant experience. The wait time was not bad at all!

Interior: We were pleasantly surprised by the fast, attentive service given how past reviewers mentioned having long waits. Hostess and server, “SwaggyT” were super kind. It’s a clean, electric (loud music) space with an energetic feel. Kind of felt like we were in DTF. Restroom and outdoor waiting area were clean. Food: A different take on some traditional recipes were welcomed. We had the Chilaquiles with a Custard French Toast and hubby had the Beef short ribs and homemade sausage. We liked the Chilaquiles best (with maybe a little more pork). The Abuelita chocolate in the whipped topping on the french toast made it special. Nice to see and support fresh places. You have a winner here young man.

Friendly restaurant with great food and presentation. Their Custard French Toast is the best. I'm lucky that they serve mocha cream with the French Toast that day. Tips: If you dont want to wait forever, volunteer to sit at the bar!

Like always this place NEVER disappoints me. The Custard French toast is a must-have. And well...who can say no to their mouth watering chimichurri potatoes.
