Boulangerie Bakery & Cafe

My mom is obsessed with Paris baguette, and complained several times to me that there is no Paris baguette in the Seattle area. When I came to visit her, I wanted to find a Paris baguette substitute. I was so happy when I found boulangerie, because their cake and their menu look almost exactly like those of Paris baguette‘s. Boy, was I wrong. What a disappointment. We bought a chocolate chiffon cake and were so excited. However, this is only like Paris baguette in appearance only. The chocolate cake doesn’t have enough chocolate flavor, and it’s almost like a vanilla cake that has been dyed brown. The cream frosting is not very good and the other pastries were not fresh. We had the garlic sticks and they were stale. Now my mom is sad, not only because she still does not have a Paris baguette here, but also because she has a very large cake that is not good and taking up a lot of space in our refrigerator.

First what I love about this place. I loved my chocolate mousse cake. It was so delicious and exactly what I was looking for . We did enjoy the croissants that we purchased. Individually wrapping each one feels wasteful and one paper bag would suffice. I am grateful I can find a good croissant and french baked goods in Factoria.

I just recently found this place, I come here every weekend now. The food is fantastic, the prices are great (today I picked up 5 big pastries and a mocha for $13!), service is very friendly. I love this place! My personal favorite is the custard danish, though everything I've had from here has been great. My wife and I used to always go to Belle Pastry for breakfast on the weekends, now we come here instead for the better service, better food and better prices.
