We frequently eat at the Frontier Tavern. After a week long game of tag to confirm my reservation, we arrived and we were seated. This is when we find out that the menu has changed significantly. Selections are limited and many removed. Carb cakes, fish and chips, and onion rings to name a few. 5 of the 7 in our party had planned to order a crab cake.
The chicken stew at $32 a bowl was blah at best. A few cuts of potatoes, one slice of a carrot, and a ring from an onion. A chicken and pork belly sandwich ordered without jalapenos came with jalapenos and pork belly that was so hard it could not be chewed! The mushroom soup was a puree so thick it was more of a dip with an unpleasant texture.
Needless to say our $250+ dinner was not the birthday celebration we had envisioned. Our waiter was fine. He did his job however proper training should have included bringing a manager to a table when it was clear that we were less than satisfied.
After so many enjoyable gatherings at the Springs Tavern, I'm sad to have had such a disappointing one.

We had a great dinner at the Frontier Tavern while staying at Bedford Springs for the night. The entire staff was friendly and upbeat. The food was delicious and so were the drinks. We both had the Steak Frites and both medium well and medium rare was prepared perfectly. For breakfast we had the Breakfast Bowl and the Breakfast Sandwich. We will definitely be back.

Food and services were outstanding. You could say over the top. Actually we were sitting at the table shown in the photo on Google. My wife had the prime rib medium rare and it was perfect. It was also huge so it will be coming back to Maryland unless we leave it in the room fridge. I had a cheeseburger, probably the best one ever for me. After dinner we walked on the cart path on the golf course and the doubled back for the fire pit that was just getting started outside where we had dinner. A great meal and a great Fitbit day.
Almost forgot to mention the apple brown Betty ala mode. Life is good.

We stayed at the Omni this week for our anniversary (& Valentines Day) — visited The Frontier Tavern multiple times. Every time — we loved the food, experience & especially our server.
Kyle is professional, well polished & very knowledgeable.
We look forward to visiting the Omni again next year as always & look forward to that YUMMY appetizer — Pork Belly & Clams. Also, that Apple Brown Betty Dessert is to DIE FOR! DELICIOUS!

The food was excellent and our waiter (James?) Was really sweet. The sweet potato fries are exceptional and I greatly enjoyed my burger.

Great setting. Food was good and Jacob, our Waiter, gave great info on the history of the building etc. Highly recommend.

Great atmosphere and customer service. Favorites were the carrots and chakaure board. Lobster mac and cheese was over cooked and dry.
