Review Olde Liberty Station - Bedford

Susan Wheeler Smith
Always clean. Staff pleasant and helpful. Food is good, but we always leave slightly disappointed. Old Fashion was very disappointing, although made with Maker’s Mark as we requested. Wine selection is horrible. Ribeye very tasty, cooked more medium than medium rare as requested. Ribs were excellent. Filet was small, thin and slightly over cooked. Rather bland. Creamy spinach very floury. Cheesecake was super bland but the key lime pie was nice and tangy and very good.

Haven't eaten there in many years, and enjoyed our dinner. The service was excellent, and the food was tasty. My husband got the beef tips that came with 2 sides. I got the butternut squash ravioli with 1 side. Will definitely be back.

Me and my mom came from Richmond, VA to eat here, and it was well worth the drive. The food and service at Liberty Station was wonderful. Next time I am passing through Bedford, I will come here to eat again.

This place deserves a 5.0 in my opinion. The taste of the food takes you back to the basics. You feel like your in grandma’s kitchen. Lots of flavor to any thing you order. Freshly baked bread and desserts!!! I had the Chattanooga chopped steak, sweet potatoes, broccoli, and peach cobbler. The staff is also very pleasant and attentive. My husband and I absolutely love it!!!!

Historic location with legendary food! At the recommendation of our server we had the peach cobbler and WOW 🤩

Great food at affordable prices. I loved the salt and pepper catfish! I also loved the bread that was served with three types all in one dish and it was served with an amazing blackberry butter. I finshed with the BEST peach cobbler and I will definitely be returning.

A historic old train station building which has been refurbished while keeping some of the original aspects of the building and fixtures. There is also a separate lounge area in the building. Plenty of parking is available. Appeared to be a very popular stop for lunch during the summer and tourist season. Located fairly close to the National D Day memorial. Lunch menu was a variety of sandwiches, salads and burgers with a few options for entrees. Staff was friendly and attentive. It did take more than a moment to get our food but the place was full at lunch. My burger was overcooked from what I requested but was still tasty. Another at our table had the bbq sandwich which they loved. Coleslaw came with the bbq sandwich but was a very, very small amount. Reasonable prices were also nice. I would return here again if in the area.

Great atmosphere, great service. I don't normally order hamburgers but I did here, The Station Burger, and it was 100% delicious! Easy location to get in and out of. Best of all, the owners are good people!

I had the best meal last night. The waitress and other staff was so polite and friendly. Even enjoyed the tables seated beside us. I had sirloin tips that were tender and cooked perfectly. One place that’s worth the drive from Roanoke and the price. Thanks!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Quaint place to eat with lots of memorabilia. Inexpensive, Southern comfort food. Good salads, but the chicken salad does not have grapes and celery and pecans, which is what I like. Also, thee fried green tomatoes did not have cornmeal. But overall good food and worth a stop if you’re traveling on US 460 or visiting the D-Day Memorial.

Great place to eat! Heather and her staff are always top notch. The food is always delicious and the cheesecake is the best you’ll get anywhere!

Hands down best crab dip and peach cobbler I've had in a 300 mile radius! The prime rib wasn't bad either I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

A couple of my friends and I walked the trail at Peaks of Otter and was starving when we finished. We were looking for somewhere close by to eat and found y'all. We all had a very good meal and excellent service. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The crab salad is a nice blend of fresh herbs and greens with flavorful creamy crab. The dish is a perfect portion. The staff are attentive. A very relaxed atmosphere.

We are very happy to have this restaurant in our home town. The food is always good, and even if something is not quite right, the staff always takes care of it. I love their Fried Green Tomatoes w/ dill sauce. Add a house salad or a bowl of French Onion Soup, and I'm happy. During the holidays, their pumpkin and red velvet cheesecakes are wonderful!

Thank you for salvaging our stop in Bedford after a horrible experience at another local establishment. Both the meals and the desserts were on point! And the bread! I cannot say enough about the bread!!!

We had a group of four and came in today for lunch and the place was hopping. We had a very good waitress and the food was wonderful. I had the catfish and it could not have been any better. We were in town on a day trip from Richmond to see Poplar Forest and the D Day Memorial. While at Poplar Forest, we asked about a good local place for lunch before we hit the D Day Memorial. We were told we couldn't go wrong if we stopped at Liberty Station in Bedford and I am SOOOO glad they recommended y'all. I'll definitely be back anytime I'm out that way!!
