Solid Chinese. Went to China Town this evening for dinner. A delay in being seated was the chief drawback. Most after that was great.
Started with egg drop soup. It was standard-good egg drop, and served with a very generous portion of fried wontons.
One of the key things I look for in a Chinese restaurant is the quality of the sweet and sour sauce. There was a bottle on the table--and the sauce was the pinkest in color of any s-n-s I've ever seen. It was very sweet, overly almost, yet kind of weak in flavor at the same time. The flavor seemed as though watermelon was its base. It was different than any I've ever had, and yet I couldn't bring myself to embrace its uniqueness.
For main course, chicken lo mein. Absolutely delicious in every regard: chicken, vegetables, noodles, flavor, texture. Top notch.
Service was solid. Waitress was a grandmotherly type and was efficient, timely, friendly and detailed.
China Town in Bedford was a great find. If you're in 183 area near Central, do yourself a favor and stop by.
Best Chinese food around despite what the restaurant looks like! They use very good cuts of meat and ingredients are fresh.
