Review La Cremaillere Restaurant - Bedford

I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Cremaillere and I must say, it was an absolutely unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the enchanting ambiance. The quaint French atmosphere, complete with delightful service and soft lighting, transported me to a quaint French village. What truly stole the show were the incredible culinary creations that graced our table. The duck and lamb chop I indulged in were cooked to perfection, bursting with flavors that left me craving for more. The meat was tender, juicy, and paired perfectly with the accompanying sauces and sides… Let's talk about the soufflé, oh my goodness! It was an absolute masterpiece and surely the best I've ever tasted, not only within La Cremaillere but in the entire country! Chef Thomas Burke's expertise shone brightly in this light, airy, and incredibly flavorful creation. It was as if time froze while I savored every spoonful. Highly recommend the chef’s tasting menu and La Cremaillere restaurant!

I have loved this restaurant for many many years. My father used to bring us here as children because he also loved it. It is every bit as good today as it was 30 years ago. The food is exquisite and the service is amazing. It’s well worth the steep price. I wish that the customers would dress appropriately because it’s very upsetting to be in such an elegant environment and see people wearing clothes that one would wear to a gym. I think it’s one of those restaurants where men should always wear a jacket and a tie, and ladies should look elegant. Just my opinion but I think you should dress for this wonderful place.

Excellent meal on top of the hill. The escargot (pictured) was the best we’ve had, even my 7 year old liked it. The kids also enjoyed their steak and fries (pictured). We sat out front but the garden room in the back looked amazing.

An amazing experience dining here at La Crem. The service was excellent and the menu complimented the spring season perfectly. We enjoyed the pasta additions and chose the three course menu. The cavatelli were tender and perfectly paired with the eggplant and calabrian chiles as were the agnolotti. The long island duck was tender and flavorful. The scallops' sear was on point and the tender peas and fava were the perfect accompaniment to the warm risotto. Their pommes frites are a must as is their mille feuille with strawberries to end the meal. This is one of the best dining experiences in the tri-state area and may even surpass fine dining in Manhattan.

From top to bottom, a tremendous dining experience. Thomas does an amazing job in the kitchen with the flavor profile of all the dishes. You can do a 2 or 3 course tasting. If you're really hungry do three, two is fine. Highly recommend the tartare de boeuf, foie gras, dover sole meuniere, entrecote de boeuf, veal medallions. Wine list superb both regular list to reserve list. And the bread and butter. Service outstanding.

Wife and I hadn't visited for 47 years so a bit of a gap and we were curious how we would find it. Unchanged, and in a good way. It isn't just nostalgia. Service on a friday night with a very large party in the adjoining was unruffled, personable and prompt. The food is far from nouvelle and the decor is "country French" frozen in time but it all holds up just fine. We enjoyed ourselves.

What a delightfully charming hidden gem. Our new favorite restaurant in the same rotation as the Inn at Pound Ridge and Le Escale (though the French food here is better). Asked Chef to come say hello and he trained at Le Bernadin - no wonder my halibut was perfection and the sauces swoon worthy- seriously, the cucumber sauce with the himachi tartare was so good that I wanted it in a glass. My husband asked the chef if he could leave me there for cooking lessons for the next month. Instead, we will just have to come back, and soon!

The service is excellent but the food, while made with decent quality ingredients, is locked in the 1980s. More like a country brasserie than fine dining. Still, it's a nice place for a simple celebration.

Great Resturant. They were closed for 2 years and recently opened. New chef Thomas came to our table to introduce him self. Food is delicious the service is top notch we ordered the veal and the duck which are delicious. Highly recommend this Resturant and make sure to order the soufflé for desert.
