Review Grouse Mountain Grill - Beaver Creek

Anthony Rinella
The restaurant is beautiful and feels special, the service was outstanding, the main courses were average unfortunately. My Elk dish was bland and my wife didn't like her octopus at all. The waiter did graciously remove it from the bill. On a positive note, my son loved his burger and the brussel sprouts were the best I've ever had and I'm a huge fan of brussel sprouts.

Grouse Mountain Grill provides an enjoyable culinary experience. The fresh baked bread with coarse salt and tapenade was a great start. Shared the Kale salad with a refreshing cucumber green goddess dressing topped with a 6 minute egg rolled in panko and lightly singed which was a nice addition. The pan seared scallops were large and perfectly cooked with a nice sear and a solid moist interior. They were accompanied by tender roasted multi colored carrots, cauliflower puree and a grape pistachio relish which also made a delicious topping for the scallops. The New Zealand Elk loin stole the show. Cooked medium rare this may have been the most tender meat I have had. If you have never had elk and are skeptical this is the place to try it. The elk was appropriately served with a great combination of wild mushroom risotto, roasted beets, parsnips and a savory huckleberry jus which provided a nice dipping sauce for the elk. The menu has a tempting selection of sides however we found we had plenty with what was included with the entres. We topped the dinner off with the "Bailey's" classic creme brulee which was one of the best we have had. The serving is big enough to share. If you're in the Beaver Creek village you will appreciate the creative menu and the attention to detail from the chef and staff.

We had the most wonderful time. The spicy cocktail was a huge winner and the Somalia hit it out of the park with the itlaian wine he paired with my scallops and my husband'spretzel covered pork chop. The pumpkin soup was a great starter and the ambiance is perfect mountain chic. Cozy and delightful

Best meal of our trip. We have been staying in Vail since Thursday. This was the best meal we have had Steak tar tare with bone marrow, duck confit, veal osso bucco, and Jessica makes the most amazing cocktails beens knees and a bar tenders call. Waiters Harold and Dave were great. They were an amazing experience! I highly recommend you go!!!!!!

First let me say the staff was amazing. Courteous, friendly and checked in on us frequently. The food is the reason for the three star. I ordered the special which was Bison, it was served to me cooked but cold and had clearly been sitting. By the time I got a new one my wife had finished her entire meal and then some time. This made for a disappointing dinner for our special anniversary night out. Please note that the other dishes were good and the cocktails were excellent. I would still recommend Grouse Mountain if you are in the area.

Grouse Mountain Grill has become one of our favorite restaurants in the Vail Valley. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff is professional, friendly, and eager to make your evening perfect. The food is consistently delicious. Our favorite entrees are the pork chop and the beef tenderloin. We highly recommend this restaurant in The Pines Lodge in Beaver Creek.

We stayed at the pines lodge and went down to enjoy a meal with my father. It took us 30 minutes to get seated in the morning for breakfast, and when we were told to sit ourselves the waitress rudely told us to get up and move to a different table. The same day we had a reservation for dinner and we were told that we had no reservation and to sit at the bar. The owner of the restaurant interfered and found our reservation, we explained to him what had happened that morning and I guess he felt offended and said that he wouldn’t serve us. Walk across the street to Splendido they seem to have it together and much better food.

The ambiance and ease to get to with the beaver creek interconnect shuttle were good. The food was unfortunately not up to par and the menu is quite limited. My scallops tasted good but were small. The paired carrots and grapes did not compliment the scallops at all. I had a $17 glass of Cabernet which had started to turn. Our crème brûlée tasted good but was cold, which I guess is ok but I’m more accustomed to being warm. For the price I would not eat here again.

Everything about this place is amazing. The service was superb. David was a our waiter and he gave great recommendations on food and drink. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious. We ordered the elk, veal, and agnolotti and all three dishes knocked it out of the park. Huge compliments to the boys and girls in the kitchen. Tony and Ryan are my favorite. The pastry girls are ok too.

My sister and I bring our families and guests here each time we are in town. Memorial Day weekend and July 4th week! Their menu has fresh additions each season and offers unique, non-traditional fare. The Sommelier is well versed and makes wonderful suggestions that are affordable. Thank you to Dave and his team for making us feel welcome each visit. See you all very soon.
