I have gone to Pompei so many times, it is a family favorite. We don't live in the area anymore but anytime we are in Bayonne to visit, we have to stop here. Before you even enter the building you can smell the freshly made dough from outside. The RC cola pairs perfectly with a plain pie. It's a classic Italian plain cheese pizza with the perfect cheese to sauce ratio. No weird extra flavors to try and change it up. Do not even need to order ahead. It's best freshly cooked and doesn't take that long

My co-worker spoke highly of this place after ordering delivery from here. I soon visited expecting a great slice, however, upon ordering two slices for my pregnant wife and I, the guy making the pizzas opened the door to leave the shop, walked back in, touched the pizza in the oven to check its temperature, closed the oven and took out his phone, grabbed his shirt to cover his yawn, all without washing his hands or sanitizing. I canceled the order and kindly explained to them why I decided to cancel. Be cautious if you decide to eat here. I hope no one goes through the same experience I did.

Margarita Pie was a total disappointment, and the worst I’ve ever had in my life. The sauce had no taste and is supposed to be sweet! I thought the cheese was under the sauce, but I guess I was mistaken as there was no fresh mozzarella on the entire pie. Only positive thing I can say is the crust was good and they were polite. In addition they were so cheap with basically crumbs of basil 🌿 on the pie. Wouldn’t eat there again if the pizza was free.

I used to love coming here all the time and eating their pizza. Today changed everything. I called and ordered for delivery and everything was great. First it was a 40 minute wait time which is completely fine I wasn’t in a rush. They called 25 minutes later but I missed the call. They then called from the store and I answered and it was one of the employees saying that their delivery driver was outside waiting. I then said I am sorry I didn’t see that he called. He then proceeds to say do you want your food ? you have one job to answer the phone , we do all the work for you and then laughs with the other workers. What kind of customer service is that ? I understand the driver was waiting for a few minutes but to be rude on the phone. Horrible

I don't easily give a 5 star rating. Pompeii deserved it. This quaint family ran restaurant greets you right from the door with smiles, warm welcome and that old country brick oven amazement you crave! Their extended menu adds even more reason to sit and stay a while with their pasta and pleasure filled dishes you'll come back for again, ...and again! Bon Appétit!

This is the worse pizzeria of whole bayonne. Customer service is laughable, food is never the way you want it. Taste is just salt and grease. Way too many other options to choose from.
