I enjoyed a chill dinner with great service here at J. Alexander's on a week night. This steakhouse is spacious and we were able to get seated without a wait. The staff was welcoming and respectful (as expected for this type of restaurant) and our waiter was helpful when it came to questions about the menu. Food: I ordered the grilled salmon (great) which came with a side of orzo & wild rice (I was not a fan since it was cold and the rice mixed in could've been softer). I ended up enjoying my friends side of smashed potatoes. Despite the several notices on the menu that meat cooked medium-well or above is not offered or recommended I sure was pleased that my salmon dish was cooked perfectly medium-well and my friend's steak was also cooked perfectly medium-well :) Dessert: Delicious chocolate cake with a scoop of Vanille ice cream. So good! I was also large portion- enough for two. Drinks: I had hot tea for the night. I really appreciated the presentation/spread + addition of honey upon my request. Overall I was really satisfied with the portions/value and service. I'd recommend a visit and would likely return!

Upscale and delicious, food was outstanding as expected. Our server Macy was at another level of service. Food was delivered hot and our drinks never hit bottom. Over all 5* stars isn't enough for this place.

Food was great. Lots of food. Hugh serving of mashed potatoes. The fish taco with avocado was delicious. The meat was thick but my wife complained that is had a lot of fatty pieces for prime rib and waiter commented that it does sometimes contain fat.

I believe it’s all bout which dish you order. There are some dishes that are okay but there are dishes that make it worthwhile to give five stars. I dislike salmon however when I tasted their salmon - incredible! Did not have the fishy smell nor the taste. The flounder was great as well. A little bland however perfectly cooked. Their smashed potatoes are great. The atmosphere is perfect for those small birthday celebrations to a nice evening with a date.

My honey brought me here on 4/3/22. It was my first time here. I ordered the crab cakes. OMG...so good. It was real crab meat. We were seated without a reservation or wait. The service was pretty good. I love the intimate dining that the space provides. I really enjoyed this restaurant. We will definitely be back.

such a vibey place. the food is sooo good and it never disappoints. i don’t go here often, but when i do, it is amazing. the staff is always so nice and take care of you great. it is pretty pricey but it is totally worth it. if you are going here, make sure to dress nice :)

Honest Reviews

This spot hasn’t let me down yet. Great service. We barely had time to finish our appetizers and our entrees were coming to the table. We liked that. Our server was awesome. It was midday. Lunch rush was over. Drinks: superb. A guarantee when you’re looking for a nice place with great food. This experience was very enjoyable because of the attention of our server and the perfect way that our meal was executed, promptly and correctly.

The service at this establishment was wonderful. Our waiter was very attentive, made sure it table stayed clean and our drinks were full. He got our order correct the first time and recommended some great drinks. When our food came out, it was hot and so good. Their drinks are very good also. He deserved every tip that he got. Also he wore his mask the whole time. The restaurant was so clean, the bathrooms were very clean and the mood was elegant through out the whole restaurant. I will definitely be back.
