I love getting a great homecooked meal. It's even better from a locally owned restaurant. This was true comfort or soul food. These types of places don't get enough spot light sometimes, due to their visibility from the street. The smothered pork chop was the best I've had in a while. Thin cut, tender, and a wonderful thin breading. The gravy had a slightly peppery and garlicky note which was inviting. The cabbage was off the chart. Not overcooked, and plenty of meat in it. The butter beans were standard fare. The servings were large too.

Not sure what was happening with this place. First and last time I will ever stop here to eat. Cook took my order. Ordered an omelette. I don't like hash browns, I was told they had nothing to substitute for them. Omelette eggs were runny still, and the other ingredients we're minimal. I was given just one glass of iced tea, with no refill, on my entire visit. The place was clean, but I'm wondering if I will be sick from the food.

Bad customer service. They closed at 4pm on Sunday. We walked in at 3:28 they lady behind the counter stated very rudely “We CLOSED y’all Locked them doors.” It’s okay that they closed 30 minutes early but it was unnecessary to be rude. Not sorry we closed early.. Or good evening we closed early today and forgot to lock the doors.. Was rude definitely wouldn’t go back. I hate bad customer service.
