Review Goyaya's Crepes - Baton Rouge

Mark E Martin
Main Street Market is open Monday through Saturday. During the week they mainly serve the lunch crowd from nearby government buildings. There are a number of vendors offering a variety of food options. On Saturdays they see a larger, more diverse crowd in conjunction with the Red Stick Farmers Market, which sets up outside. Once a month there is an arts market as well. It has become a regular Saturday routine for me to go there for breakfast and to see what seasonal offerings the farmers have on hand. It's also a time to socialize with friends and acquaintances who are there to do their shopping and socializing. I find it quite enjoyable.

Great experience. Lots of veggies, eggs, honeys, fruits, jams and jellies, meats, and our local strawberries, all from farms in the area. Also have an indoor area with fresh foods like breakfast and lunch plates. There's usually a musical act. Today is a few guitarists and a harpist playing and singing folk music.

Always a huge variety of food stuff that adds flavor to your cooking. Also lovely old balsamic vinegar with flavored oil to mix with it. Super helpful and friendly vendor.

Great fresh produce from local farmers. Make sure you visit the Cutrer brothers for the best meat products you'll ever find.

Walked through at 9 AM to see some shops and grab a bite for breakfast… every single shop was closed and only three of the food counters were “open” (one person just starting to get things together and turn lights on). I walked straight through and found something else to do. Not sure if it was COVID or it being a few days after New Years, but it was basically closed.

This has been my go to for the freshest produce and oils. A wonderful farmers market and more!

These Crepes are amazing! This is a must go to place in Baton Rouge.

It would be 5 stars bu it was so slow! It took 25 minutes to get a crepe. They forgot my friend’s ice coffee. We’re pretty sure they gave it away to some else who ordered something else. But I will say that the crepe was delicious.

Best Crepes I have or ever will have! Always feels like home when I am there!

This place is awesome. Didn't feel like cooking, so we rode downtown to market area. The grill chicken caprese is super! This is an unexpected find. Can't wait to go back

Love this place! Wonderful food and great service!

Quick, good food that's affordable for downtown. Also, they like to experiment with specials frequently so there's variety to go with the standard menu. Can't go wrong with either the sweet or savory crepes.

Awsome breakfast lunch and daily specials. I had the bacon cheeseburger today and it was awesome. I also like the sausage egg and cheese crepe.

Crepes are just a little too doughy. They should slso attempt to evenly spread ingredients - whenever I get the Chicken Caprese crepe, one bite is cheese and another is all tomato. Still a satisfying breakfast for a morning at the Farmer's Market.

Not impressed. I've been here twice and both times they used old, re-heated chicken in my crepe. Not a fan and will not return.

Love these Crepes! Best Saturday morning tradition at the farmers market.

Had the Brie and spinach. Delicious and quite a large portion. Friend had the Cuban. Tasty as well, but spicy!

The Cuban crepe was delicious! We were going to order this and the chicken/pesto and split them, but the Cuban crepe filled us up.

One dry crêpe certainly doesn’t a bad review make, but it does make me more eager to test the rest of the menu.

Overall, I was happier than a kid on Christmas morning that I finally got a hold of a decent waffle.

If you haven't heard anything about the food truck "movement" in the past year or so, you've probably been living under a rock. I'm particularly proud of my city (Baton Rouge) for not being late to the game on this trend and supporting at least 5 (just off the top of my head) food trucks. Some folks may be starting to consider mobile food passé, but then one comes across a truck offering really unique fare, like the crepes from GoYaYa's Gourmet Food Truck . Although really, it's not so much a truck as a pulled trailer: GoYaYa's Gourmet Food Truck GoYaYa's was started by Chef Kevin Black, who was inspired by the food carts he was exposed to while living in Taiwan. He says that experience and his education at the Culinary Arts Institute of Louisiana were the perfect combination to open a gourmet food truck. GoYaYa's crepes are from rotating international cuisines varying from Greek and Vietnamese to classic French. I visited on an overcast day when they were parked under the Perkins Rd.
