Best sushi and hibachi in town! Came in with family and everyone had so much fun, food are amazing! Will visit again! If you have not been here, do consider as most weekends require reservations!

It did not taste fresh and although it seem like large portions. It was a lot of cheap filler in the rolls. Very disappointed.

Excellent sushi & service! It’s well priced & top quality. On Father’s Day we ordered late & they still kindly made 10 rolls for us! They were amazing & we will be ordering solely from here from now on. Steven & Dara

Very Good Sushi, And Very Good Hibachi. Lots of Fun and Great Service from our Chef and our Server. Large servings. Fresh Meats, Vegetables, and Seafood. All around terrific dining experience. Much improved over the last time we were here (that time was for lunch)

Always a solid choice for sushi nearby us. They won't bowl you over with over the top rolls, but they are consistently good and always friendly, and have good sushi.

Always great food and great service! We got there at 9:15 the other night and they were still super friendly and nice! Their fried rice is by far the best around and it’s so simple but everything was cooked perfectly and the sushi was awesome as always! Thank you Tokyo Cafe for being a great restaurant for so long!!

This was about my 3rd time coming here, and I very much enjoyed it! I come for the lunch time specials and the hibachi is always delicious!! 2/3 times that I've went I was server by Caleb and he is a very great server!! Today he was also accompanied by a new hire names Ethan and he was very kind as well. 5 stars!!!

The food is good and I come here regularly, mostly for lunch. When I dine alone I don't sit on the hibachi side but order from the hibachi. However, today my server informed me that I cannot order from the hibachi if I don't sit at the hibachi, even though this is my norm. Tokyo Cafe, you just lost a regular customer. From now on I'll try your competitor around the corner.

Delicious, good portions, and reasonably priced! I definitely will return. Only complaints: the service was mediocre and the crab stick wasn't great.

We live across the street and absolutely love the sushi there! Always fresh. Staff always pleasant. The owner and his wife are almost always there and ready with recommendations.

Only been a couple of times so far and have not tried the Hibachi yet. So far a solid a-ok with hopes for more to come.

Wednesday night dinner with the boys and not many folks around at 8 or so. A family at Hibachi and a couple in the bar area for sushi.

Big pluses are Ramune is in the house and three styles of Japanese beer. They have cocktails but I get the feeling they donor focus on it here as much.

Another big plus is they are one of a few with the grilled whole squid on sizzling platter but it is more costly here than most at $10. Most of the time I get it for $7 or $8....that is usually out of town since not many carry it locally.

Tempura app was hot and tasty with batter thicker than the light batter at Ichiban. Not my fave but it will do.

Sushi is serviceable and service was attentive. Tofu Age was a new experience and tasty with a large portion for $4.

Next time we want to try the hibachi so stay tuned.

Atmosphere is middle of the road here too which is squarely where I place them overall for now.

Probably one of my favorite places to enjoy hibachi and fresh sushi. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. My favorite roll is the orange roll.

Not a good experience. We went eat there last night for a Friday night we were rushed in and out of there in 1hr from start to finish not a good experience at all food was ok but soup was cold no season on meats just poor all around experience will not be going back!

Forget the people who bash this placr. Excellent service , excellent sushi, and even better hibachi than Ichuban. Had the filet mignon hibachi and volcano roll. Amazing all around.

Horrible service. There service has gone down we have been there twice in the past 3weeks once with a party of 17 and then again with a party of 8. With the party of 17 half receive their soup and salad when they were supposed to and the other half didn't receive it till after received a meal and we ask for it. Never did they just come and refill drinks our glasses were always empty. Both times we went the cook we received didn't put in a good show very dull and didn't understand hardly anything we said we won't be giving them a third try

My favorite sushi place. This place is pretty cheap and their sushi is wonderful. I always go here over anywhere else, honestly.

Great - no compliants!. I tried this place (upon the recommendation of my son & daughter-in-law) despite the bad reviews I'd seen. We (a party of three) went on a Sunday for lunch, we arrived about 11:30 am & was seated immediately. We only had to wait for about 15 minutes for the chef to come to our table. I was very happy with the place! The sushi was great & tasted FRESH. The hibachi was excellent, the chef did a great job & our waiter was outstanding. I was very pleased with the amount of food we got for the money. I'm not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from, but we were extremely pleased.

Don't listen to gaygaygay, this place has quality sushi and service. It's a quiet tucked away place that offers a great dining experience.

Sushi Fail. The sushi here is abysmal. Their specialty "Pink Lady Roll" - which is supposed to contain crawfish and crab - looked like some wet bandages had been stuck to day old rice and around minced white cardboard. There was no crawfish to be found, only fake crabmeat slathered in mayo. Gross. The waitress was unable to provide us with any information as to the prices of any of the rolls on the menu and so we were surprised when the bill came and the Pink Lady rang in at $17. The waitress was also unfamiliar with any of the fish on the sushi menu and asked us to describe them to her. All this, after waiting about 45 minutes to eat in an uncrowded restaurant. We ended up here because we were starving and the wait at Ichiban was over an hour. My advice - take the wait unless you want a stomach full of regret and yesterday's chum.

Sucks. This place sucks the waiters don't even listen to you I suggest you don't go to this hellhole

Excellent. Owner made us feel welcome. And showed us how to order and suggested what we should get for our kids. The Chef was amazing entertaining & the food. We will definitely visit often!

This is the best place to get hibachi! It is even better if you have Carl (I think thats his name)!! He is awesome! So polite and energetic and makes amazing hibachi! I would t go anywhere else! The food is incredible! Especially the noodles! I love it!

My wife and I went for a late lunch the other day. I'm a huge fan of sashimi and seeing a traditional dish like chirashi I had to order it. The fish I received was mediocre at best, less then fresh caught. The chefs seem to want to cover their plates with inedible plant matter to make the plate look more full, garnishments that the eater is forced to remove from their meal. The worst offense came with the rice; chirashi is supposed to be sashimi served on a bed of seasoned sushi rice. The rice that I got was completely unseasoned and not nearly sticky enough.
NoLa Foodie
The prices are low because the portions are small. I don't mean small by southern standards. I mean the sashimi pieces are smaller than normal, like they were cut in half. Service was all over the place, but not terrible.
Alexandria Robinson
Excellent service! The sushi was fresh and super yummy.

LOVE THIS PLACE! Sushi is not over priced and it makes your money worth. My favorite roll is the fiesta roll. Mhmm. Jacky makes the best special rolls. Servers are good with customer service. Oh and the tuna tataki as an appetizer is the BOMB. Will def come more often.
Bumble Bee
Has great habachi, atmosphere and sushi. Service is awesome!

Hibachi deliciousness. Went there for the hibachi. We had the shrimp, steak and chicken. Definitely kind of expensive but typical for hibachi. Considering how much food was served definitely worth the price. The rice is just hibachi rice, but the noodles are really good. Definitely some of the better yellow sauce I've had at hibachi. Overall we were really satisfied with the meal and will be going back for dinner.

Awesome!!!. Family and i came to this place for the first time due to friends always talked about how awesome this place is . I gotta say this is the best sushi habachi place i ve ever been to . Tokyo Cafe rocks!! My kids really enjoyed and had fun when they did the fireman and chu chu train. We will be back!! thanks!!!
Jordan Trosclair
By far the best & freshest sushi around! Ask for a Special Rose Roll, it doesn't have rice, just awesome!
Jeannie
This is my favorite sushi place so far. Awesome fresh fish. Miso soup is great. If you sit in the upper bar area, you get free soup.

Just a great place. Service is always good, the manager is super cool and the food is just as good as any of the top sushi joints in town. I wish they would do something to sprue up the outside of the building. I passed on this place many times when it was new because it looks rather cheesy from the outside.
Kaa
Impressed. Avocado roll is delicious. And they are very reasonably priced. I would return.
Eric
Hibachi!! simply amazing. I was very pleased with this place. We had the steak, chicken, shrimp and scallops Hibachi and it was all great. The chicken was the most tender chicken i have ever eaten. The steak was also some of the best I have had anywhere.

the fried rice and lo mein noodles were outstanding as well. The salad and soup were also perfect and refreshing. I could not have been happier with the overall experience and the food! I will be back for sure.

Really really freaking good. Appears to be a strip mall sushi factory but has a great menu with yummy entrees and hibachi. Good service and atmosphere too.
Allison
Excellent!

Party or Pair. I've been here several times for different events. Once with my wife as just a date night. The food was amazing. She was put off a bit by not being offered silverware, but got over it as we both laughed at our chopstick use. The second time was with my boss and some co-workers at the hibachi. We ordered some great sushi and had fun with the cook as he did his art. Good food at a great price for what you get. Definitely recommend.

So-So. The service was nice and I enjoyed the atmosphere but to be quite honest the sushi wasn't the best. Tokyo Cafe can compete with other sushi places in service but not in taste. I much prefer Itchiban.

Best sushi in the BR. Generally speaking, I'm not a sushi fan, but Tokyo is my exception. It's an intimate little restaurant with fast service & reasonable prices that's a mainstay on my gf and I's date nights. Some personal recommendations - crunchy rolls and NJ rolls.

On Par. You won't find a better sushi and hibachi restaurant in Baton Rouge but you will be pleased that Tokyo can actually service customers with a large sushi bar and ample grill tables. I suggest the dynamite roll, but everything I've had on multiple visits has been fresh and flavorful.
Alli
A very nice resturaunt with friendly service. The sushi is pretty good and the food on the hibachi is excellent. Must take a visit here!

I like to move it, move it!. The hibachi was fun.
SlimEatsTheWorld
Unfortunately this is the worst sushi I've had in Baton Rouge so far. We sat at sushi bar which had dirty glass on the fish case & my Philadelphia had the worst oxidized salmon I've ever seen. It was gray all the way across. The avocado had gone bad as well. Yes the sushi was cheaply priced, but you get what you pay for. I'd recommend getting your sushi fix elsewhere
Jessica
Yum!. Just ate here for the first time. The sushi is excellent! It's not too epensive and the fish is fresh. The service was amazing! I will defantley visit again.
Paige
Amazing experiance!. The sushi was soooo great! The roll with the mango completely wrapped around it is wonderful! I was dissapointed by the spider roll, a little bland, but the other three rolls we ordered made up for it ten fold!

More Sushi For Your Buck. They give a great portion of Sushi and the prices are a little better than average. I love it for a Sushi fix.
Tamara P
The sushi tastes wonderful here. The fish is very fresh and the service is great too. You also can't beat the price.
Chris
Go for the hibachi. The sushi is so-so but the hibachi is a thousand times better than Ichiban's. The service is good, the hibachi chefs are enthusiastic, and the food is tasty. Highly recommended.
Twisted
There is better sushi in town, but the price is great. The hibachi is great too.
Gary
New place, good sushi, large portions, good price.

A fairly new but very good Japanese restaurant situated in one of my favorite growing areas.(In the large growing shopping area at the corner of Bluebonnet and Perkins where you have 5 great restaurants in the very same parking lot.) I stop in for lunch t
