Pretty much the Original!. I grew up on this place... From Taco Tuesday nights (now they are on Wednesday???) to Bun Taco's and Red Burritos with extra cheese. You had to order a small fries and a large fries... the small fries is what you at on your way home to make sure you still had fries when you got there!
This location is near Barstow High School and it was almost a daily routine. $3.00 got you a Red Burrito, Fries and a Coke (1984 to 1988) and today it is not much more.
The Corporate Del Taco's are hit and miss... some good, some not. But you can always get the original great food from the three original Del Taco locations in Barstow.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at the original Del Taco, and I was not disappointed. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the food is fresh and flavorful.
I ordered two of my favorite Del Taco items: the Bean & Cheese Burrito and the Veggie Burrito Bold Style. The Bean & Cheese Burrito is a classic Del Taco item that's always satisfying.
Both of the burritos were delicious. The Bean & Cheese Burrito was hearty and filling, while the Veggie Burrito Bold Style was light and refreshing. The ingredients were all fresh and flavorful, and the burritos were cooked to perfection.
Overall, I had a great experience at the original Del Taco in Barstow. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was nostalgic. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend checking out this historic location.
The place is very clean. A very nice lady took our order and she keeps the place very clean! She takes pride in her work and keeping the customers happy. I took a picture of her because I was so impressed with her attitude and kindness. We were driving cross country from Texas and stopped here for lunch. So glad we did. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. I had the Bun Taco. The bun was nice and warm and soft. My husband had the Macho burrito. It was hot and huge. My daughter had the fish taco. She said it was yummy.
The legends are true ... this longest operating Del Taco is the best and tastiest anywhere, and the staff were all very nice 👍🌮🌵

I love Del Taco. Was happy to visit an original location. Great way to take a break on a road trip. Good variety of options. Not true and authentic Mexican food, but still tasty and satisfying. In the end; that's what it's all about. And you can't go wrong with the Del Scorcho hot sauce. They need to bottle that stuff and sell in stores.
Always love to hit a Del Taco when I am on this side of the world miss having them near me.
This is the oldest operating store in the chain and the employees were all super friendly and informative.

Will the real del taco please stand up!!.....yep this is the real deal. Get a barstow hard or soft taco and believe me it is legit. Stuffed with meat and tons of cheese over flowing with a tomato on top. My first time here and been everyday since while working in barstow. Worth the stop at this tiny yumyum spot.
I'll admit that my pictures here aren't the best, but it gives you a chance to see what the place, and some of the food, look like inside. I have been going to Del Taco in Vegas for a while because it's cheap and the food is decent. The food here, on the other hand, is actually good. It's still fast food, but higher quality fast food. What I liked more than the food was how knowledgeable Maxine was and her great customer service. I asked about sweets and she told me about the sweets they have and that the cakes are made nearby and it's not a big manufacturing thing. So, the quality of everything he at this place seems to beat out all of the other locations I've visited... yeah, it's a bit of a drive into Barstow, and it is in an odd place (in my opinion), but it's a quality place and the oldest Del Taco there is in operation.
Best Del Taco, the food is made the same as when Del Taco was founded. They serve the current corporate Del Taco menu, but also offer a Barstow menu.
The Barstow menu includes a bun taco, Barstow taco, Barstow soft taco, a tostada and more. Basically more meat and cheese.
Rumor has it the original founder of Del Taco still owns this one, and in his 90's still comes to work a few times a week to work & greet customers.
This is actually the second Del Taco, the first was in Yermo 10 miles north along I-15 (that site no longer exists). The location is in old downtown Barstow just before the bridge to the AMTRAK train station... which features a restored Harvey House, a train museum and a Route 66 museum.
Great food have been stopping at all 3 locating in barstow witch are all good. I've at here for over 30 years and still get excited about it. These three del tacos are the original owners family that own them and are not like the other del tacos everywhere else. Must try and I think you to will agree.
Supposedly the original Del Taco. Food and service were good. Dining area was noyhing special but there was a variety of individually packages on each table.
The epic chicken burrito was delish ,taco plenty of meat the beef burrito had lots of cheese.clean bathroom I wanted to buy a t-shirt but had to leave line was long.i never been here before but ill go back for tshirt

Heard this was one of the original locations, and sure enough, it was! They've got a slightly special menu here, and they do indeed stuff those tacos FULL!! Oh, they've got shirts and stuff too, which cool, people love merch. At the end of the day, it's a Del Taco...why wouldn't you go?
This is not del taco. This is ORIGINAL del taco. It has an entirely different menu, and it is a million times better than you could ever hope for. Everything is insanely fresh and the portions are giant. Get the carnitas!
Wow! One of most efficient fast food restaurants I’ve been in in the past decade. Very clean and I loved that the staff sang Happy Birthday to one of their line cooks. Excellent carnitas burrito.
