Review El Durango Mexican Restaurant - Barnesville

By far one of the best mexican restaurants we ate at in a long time! The food was great, service was excellent and there was no wait. Couldn't ask for anything more and I'll highly recommend this place!

The drink menu didn’t have any prices but after the recommendation of the waitress for their top shelf tequila we decided to get the picture. At first sip it was like it was made with Jose Cuervo mix with no tequila at all. A complaint was made but the waitress disclosed there were no refunds before even offering to fix the drink. The owner was close behind her which offered to fix the drink which was still unsatisfactory and we were again reminded there are no refunds. Ive elected not to drink any of the entire picture but my 140 lb date decided to put this to the test. She is currently 3/4 of the way thru this top shelf margarita picture at el Durango in barnesville Ga and rolling her eyes ready to leave. Maybe all the tequila settles at the bottom ? As a chef I can tell they use inferior meat and achieve a more tender texture by using lower heat but that robs you of the golden brown and delicious caused by the Maillard chemical reaction of proteins caramelize under high heat. The difference between Select, Choice, and Prime meats really matters. Also salt is not a substitute for seasoning. Cumin will not raise your blood pressure but salt will.
