Excellent service and amazing food! My husband and I came here and did the lunch special and the vegetable soup was delicious with a little bit of kick and we both had yummy chicken salad sandwiches which thankfully didn't have any weird stuff in them! And then we both had a slice of their amazing pies!! If your ever in Bardstown you can't pass up this place!

We stopped in there today for supper in between 2 events at My Old Kentucky Home that we wanted to attend. When we walked in we could smell the milk gravy and I knew that I was going to eat something with gravy. My daughter LOVED the pan fried chicken. I loved the pork chop. We both loved the corn bread, green beans and potatoes with gravy. She was so excited to hear that they had blackberry cobbler. I had the chocolate meringue pie. It was the best I have had since my Grandma stopped baking. Our meal at Kurtz alone was worth the drive from Louisville. We will definitely be back and bring people with it. My daughter says she wants them to cater her wedding. She is only a Freshman in high school, so it will be a while.
Kurtz Restaurant was excellent the service, food especially the hamburger and the Kentucky derby pie and bravo too the kitchen all the staff totally rocks.
I love Kurtz Restaurant! I eat there every time I go to Bardstown. Never ever have I had a bad experience, the food is always delicious and the staff is always friendly.

I went yesterday with my parents after I visited my old Kentucky home and got recommended to try the fried chicken. Said it was made to order so I got really excited Bc I love chicken. We all got the fried chicken platter and we instantly fell IN LOVE!! Me and my dad got desert. Also was fantastic!! 10/10 would go again.
Great little place. Service was good, fried chicken was delicious. Affordavle, clean and I would recommend it.
Very good. Excellent combo fried chicken and country ham dinner. Chicken liver great and service.
Great atmosphere and great food. We stopped by for lunch and it was great. The country ham was delicious and the pie, oh my!
A historic eatery established in 1937! This family run place is a quaint place that we have passed numerous times but decided to make a point to have dinner here last Saturday evening. My wife and a friend of ours joined us for dinner. We started with he pimento cheese appetizer. I had the fried chicken and country ham plate, my wife the half a fried chicken and our friend had the roast beef dinner. The meal was very good. The service was excellent and we had a very good time with our evening in bardstown. If you're passing through or in the area you should give this place a try and enjoy the history.
The chicken was great and we had a nice dinner. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
We had dinner in this historic restaurant. The staff was very friendly and the food came out hot and fresh. The fried chicken crispy and moist - not greasy. The turkey and ham were amazing and all the sides we're flavorful and tasty.
Atmosphere and food were wonderful service was also great. Chicken was a little overdone and it was a little to warm inside because they are still cooling with a window unit. We will diffantly return. They also have a room upstairs to reserve for large parties.
First pic is of a gluten free meal consisting of baked potatoes, mixed garden vegetables, grilled shrimp, baked cod, green beans, beets. The other pic is of my son's meal, not gluten free, fried half chicken, mashed potatoes, gluten free gravy, green beans. Corn bread was served before meal and yeast rolls at mealtime. Lots of yummy options for a celiac. No bread for me. Great hometown feel.
Was a random stop and it is not regretted. Such a interesting location and the staff was great.
Wonderful variety of traditional southern comfort food serve dinner served in a very cozy space by an excellent staff - if I could rate the service separately, I'd give them a 10. I was impressed with the speed our entrees were prepared. I ate in this restaurant two years ago and it was a wonderful experience then and it still is.
My husband & I just had the most wonderful dinner here. The fried shrimp, fried cod, fried chicken, creamy creamy mashed potatoes, slaw & green beans absolutely fabulous!!!! We are on our way to see the Ark & got a recommendation from a friend to eat here. Best call we loved loved it. We will come again. Oh, our servers were so friendly too. Thank you kind folks.
