Royal Indian

This was my first experience eating Indian cuisine and I was not disappointed. To start, this was a nice change of pace from the other restaurants in Bar Harbor that essentially all have the same items on their menus. The food at the Royal Indian was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the pricing was very fair compared to the over inflated prices at some of the other establishments. I would 100% recommend heading to the Royal Indian.

I enjoyed a late lunch here and had a very positive experience. I ordered the lamb korma with a side of naan and everything was flavorful and well prepared and arrived at the table soon after we ordered. The depth of flavor in my dish was complex and so delicious! We sat outside (I had my dog with me) and enjoyed the ambiance of the flowers on the patio. Service was very friendly! We will be back. This was such a good experience. The food was good and we’re picky. The daal and saag were homemade tasting. The kids enjoyed the butter chicken(more like the chicken tikka masala we’re used to). The gulab jamun with the chai were a perfect ending to a good meal. Miss Rita was such an amazing host. Her smile and service were on point. They run a well oiled machine here. We missed our morning chai and Rita Ji made sure we got a good cup. Definitely come and ask for her.

Had a very nice meal here and it was a nice change of pace from the generic cookie cutter Bar Harbor restaurants. Surprisingly good quality that rivaled food I've had back in NYC. Menu had a large assortment of options and everyone was able to try something new. The waitress was very nice and knowledgeable. The food came out quickly and was fresh. We were a group of 5 and sat together in the back patio so I'm guessing that affected the overall service (just getting napkins and waters/beer refilled). Regardless we still had a great meal and will be returning. (Expect to pay $15-20 per person)
