I absolutely love this place! Anytime I am in town I have got to visit! Food is always, mark my words ALWAYS FRESH, the service is magnificent ( very attentive). Must give them a try or two.
We’ve ordered takeout from Darbar many times, but this weekend we decided to try the Saturday/Sunday lunch buffet. It was very good! All fresh and hot. A great value, with lamb, chicken, and vegetarian options. We will definitely be back.
We ordered Chicken and Spinach soup, Dal Tadka, and Gulab Jamun for dessert. The food and service were top-notch. However, there was a noticeable odor in the restaurant, reminiscent of a damp cleaning cloth left out for days, resulting in a musty scent. This could be addressed by the restaurant by ensuring proper ventilation and utilizing professional cleaning products and fresheners.
On the food front, it was not only delectable but also reasonably priced.
Service was very nice and fast. Food came within 15 minutes. Quick to refill water. Only critique would be the flavor of the paneer tikka masala, it was very sweet compared to many other Indian restaurants. Naan was great. I would be back if the sweetness is turned down a bit.
Came here for Thanksgiving, and I loved the food so much! Just the perfect kind of feeling you want to have on that day: warm, full, and satisfied! The rice pudding was honestly my favorite. I do wish the portion was bigger given how a bit pricey it was, but it was good food nonetheless. I understand it’s a business, and the owners were very kind and care a lot about their work 😊

We've loved eating at Darbar ever since moving to Baltimore two years ago. Last Saturday we decided to finally try their weekend lunch buffet—and wow, it is seriously the best and tastiest Indian buffet we have ever experienced. We were delighted to find rice pudding presented on the side table, especially since Darbar's rendition of this dessert is our absolute favorite.
Came here late on a week day night, we live close and wanted to try it out. Service was welcoming when we arrived. I forget our waitress’s name but she was really sweet and gave great service. We were quickly greeted with water + complementary papadum and 3 sauces (DELICIOUS!) and the server told us their specials.
We ordered the Bombay Shrimp, Chicken Tika Masala, and Garlic Naan. Everything was really good! The Bombay Shrimp were super flavorful (almost like a Chinese dish) witch was awesome. The Chicken Tika Masala was well seasoned but a little heavy on the cinnamon and it could’ve been spicier in my opinion. We enjoyed it tho! Garlic Naan was 10/10. The rice they serve with the Tika Masala made the dinner. Super fluffy. So good.
The restaurant itself is a little bit outdated and could use a little refreshing. But that’s okay. Bathrooms were very clean. Over all the service, food and price/value were all great. We will definitely come back next time we are craving Indian food!
I don’t typically prefer this type of cuisine, but I love Darbar. First of all, free wine! The actual restaurant needs a makeover and maybe one more server, but the one we had was so warm and friendly. He was just super, super busy. The food at this place is what has kept them in our bi/weekly rotation. Delicious.
This place holds such a special place in my heart . The food is absolutely incredible, the staff are hospitable, and the glass of wine with your meal is a perfect touch . This place just feels like home when you walk in . Thank you Dar Bar for consistently amazing dining experiences.
Great food, prices, and service. Ordered two lunches and a third dish and had plenty to share with four people. Got to try a good variety and figure out which dishes to get next time. Our waiter was really nice and our two favorites were his recommendations. I was skeptical about the rice pudding but was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. This is my new favorite Indian restaurant and I hope to get the chance to visit again.
INCREDIBLE! the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala are to die for, rice pudding is delicious, and hospitality is second to none. we are spending our new year’s eve eating delicious food and with great service! officially one of my favorite places in the city!!
Amazing food, amazing service, great atmosphere! We loved every minute and will be back to try more of the dishes that looked so good. Choices for everyone! If you are vegetarian/vegan you will be pleasantly surprised at the number of dishes available. VERY reasonable prices and large portion sizes. Five stars all the way. Thanks for a great time!
My wife and I enjoyed lunch here today. We are still getting familiar with Indian cuisine and asked the server for some suggestions regarding the amount of spice in each of the dishes. My wife had the Malai Kofta (vegetable and cheese dumplings served in a creamy onion, cashew and herb sauce). I had the Darbar Special Chicken Curry. Both entries were excellent. We had Tandoori Roti and Mango Chutney on the side. We were I thoroughly satisfied with both the food and the service. Great thanks to our server. He was excellent!
We had a great lunch at Darbar today. The food was tasty and very fresh - approved by a table of Indians - and the service was amazing. We had to take off for an urban pirate cruise and only had 45 minutes. They got us in and out and even hung onto our leftovers for the way back. Special bonus for the chicken nuggets for the less adventurous among the kids.
We arrived early in the evening and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and attentive! The complimentary glass of wine per person was a lovely surprise. For our party of four we ordered the excellent samosa chatt, a very smoky and delicious baingan bartha, salmon tikka salmon (at medium it was very sweet, we’ll go hotter next time), and the extremely lovely mushroom mater. Everything was truly top tier! We’ll certainly be back!
I went to Darbar with my husband and 4 other couples and we will absolutely be going back! From the friendly and knowlegeable staff to the amazing food, we had an amazing experience. What a great variety of food and the ability to customize the heat really was great. You will NOT be disappointed if you choose to go to Darbar!!
I went in for the buffet and was a smidge disappointed by how little there was to choose from. The food that WAS there was really good though, the garlic naan was some of the best I have ever had, and I definitely got my $18 worth! A little bit of a language barrier between me and the staff, but it wasn't anything too bad. I will definitely be going back.
My husband and I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not busy at all. Delicious! We loved the fresh Naan and both of our curries were fabulous! And our server was attentive and proactive about sharing ingredients, asking spice level, and asking about allergies. Very professional and respectful. We will definitely return when we're in town. It is located in a very walkable region of Fell's Point.
Haven’t stopped craving their tikka masala since the first time I had it. So incredibly delicious.
The service is top notch. So attentive - gave us extra rice and bread to take home with us for leftovers.
Would (and have) recommend to all my friends and family
A new go to Indian place for sure! In the photos I ordered the Tandoori Mixed Grill Naan, Navratan Korma, Basmati Rice, Lentils, and a green sauce I can’t remember that tastes like mint mixed with coriander and lemon. Ordered online and it was prepared fairly quickly which was great, but what I didn’t realize is that every plate already comes with rice so I ordered extra rice by mistake. But that’s because when you order online it doesn’t say if each main dish comes with rice, at least I didn’t see that when I ordered. Either way, great meal, fast service, fair price and couldn’t ask for more. Thank you Darbar! I’m definitely coming back here again to try other dishes and the Mango Lassi which I failed to order because I second guessed myself.
