Good Mexican sweet bread, good price. Don't buy too much, bread gets really hard after 2nd day

Pictures taken back home .. there are "no pictures allowed" inside La Perla Bakery. And honestly, what fkn sane gluten loving person walks into a bakery store and says hey I want to take a bunch of pictures of this yummy stuff? No, no-no, all you're really thinking about is stuffing it in your mouth. But, before you're allowed to do that, you should carefully pile up as much as you truly desire using the tongs provided onto a handy platter, stand in line, and pay beforehand. No prices are listed but arrest assured that each individual item is priced at less than $1. Advice to come in with at least $5 is just the smart thing to do because honestly you'll want more than one piece. Intuitively one is drawn to what pleases their eye first, but if you want to know what's actually within the bread itself simply ask and any of the workers will let you know in either Spanish or English what the name of the pastry is as well as what it contains inside. I purchased all of this in the box plus the bag of semitas and a large cup of coffee for $11. There are a few more fruit filled pastries hidden underneath the concha. This place is doing everything right. 🇲🇽☕🥐

How the great have fallen, the pearl is not what it once was. When you arrive it feels more like you are walking into a Covid-19 quarantine lab. Signs all over doesn’t give you that yummy bakery feel. Inside you have to basically grab your pastry and GO. It’s not a inviting happy place. Then when you get to the cashier she’s rude unwelcoming. I take it from her manly hair style that being and looking pleasant isn’t on her top priority. How the years have made you sour. So sour that it made my donut loaded with sugar sour.

The bread is OK but I order a cake a tres leches cake and to me I have order cakes in a different bakeries and this cake was just too tall and thick and plus they didn't give me a lid for the box it was open and I had asked the lady I wanted a Cover lid for my cake, she said that they didn’t put a lid on the box because the cake get damage but then I was thinking to myself it’s the opposite not having a lid the cake could get damage. Really bad customer service when I called them. I wouldn’t come back the way they handed me my cake wasn’t profesional.
