The drive isn't too bad to get there, plus there's great scenery to make the drive even better. Simple menu with fantastic food and drinks. Fast service too. It's right next to a mountain creek so you get to eat with a great view and peaceful surroundings. There's even a little shop next door with art from local artists.
I’ve been here a handful of time over the last few years and if you know anything about me, you know I loveee going to places that are unique in any sort of way, so this place obviously checks all those boxes for a super unique place! The hotdogs are just okay, so unfortunately don’t expect much there, but when else are you ever going to get to see a huge building shaped like a hot dog in some totally random mountain town?! So because of all that this place is most definitely a “must see” stop on your road trip if you’re anywhere in Colorado (or are just visiting)!
It's an amazing drive the building has an amazing historical value it might look a little gruff and it might not be real fancy but it has roots in Colorado to go back to the 70s... The big hot dog needs a little repair, but the heart and soul of Coloradoans lives there. I don't mind paying a little more to support local businesses especially during these trying times (◔‿◔)
This is a MUST STOP! A complete hidden gem and highly recommended! Even with the cool winter temps and covid, the owner was super friendly and helpful and served us quickly outside. I loved visiting here and will definitely stop again the next time I'm driving through.
Still open with outdoor seating available, even if it is cold and snowy. Can also get to go. Decent enough dogs and fries. Nice place to stop on the way down 285.
