Review Melt Bar And Grilled - Avon

Stopped in for lunch before we headed back home! This place was amazing!! The food was spectacular! This was not your normal bar food! I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich and my husband had the Blue Cheese burger! The service was great and the place was clean and friendly! We will be back the next time we are in the area!

Not your typical food! Love that they bring variety and some spice to life. I'd recommend going during lunch because dinner can get busy even if you're just trying to pick up food.

Great restaurant! I drove 40 minutes out of the way to stop here. I live in a different state and if I ever end up anywhere I can almost consider "close" to a location I go. Pure deliciousness! Every. Time.!

Nice place. Our waiter was very nice. Food was okay. We both ordered the Cuban sandwich with coleslaw for a side. We both said the sandwich was good, but we’ve both had better. Would’ve been better if the pickle on it wasn’t breaded and deep fried. Heavy, thick breading on it. Could’ve saved that and added more meat. I know, that’s more money. We did have the homemade Pierogies as an appetizer. They were really good.

Grilled Cheese - two of the greatest most simple yet most complicated sandwich words. Done right, perfection. @meltbargrilled does this right with large Texas toast and abundant cheese. My son’s favorite is an old school “kindergarten”. I really enjoy the cheeseburger in Texas Toast also. The fries are amazing also. And i would be remiss if i didn’t mention that Melt has so many other awesome gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. Each month they have specials and for all of them your will need “two hands”. They are huge.

I ordered on door dash at 12:54pm. Called in to select the cheese, and soup since it’s not listed on the website. The woman who answered was super kind and helpful. Fast forward about an hour later when I’m calling back because my order still hadn’t been completed. I understand we all get busy but if something is going to take longer do not tell the door – driver it’s going to take 10 minutes when in reality you have her sitting in the parking lot for 30 minutes. I ordered the simplest sandwiches on the menu which was the kindergarter. With the manager got on the phone he didn’t even sound sorry for having me wait this long nor the door dash driver. He told me to complain to door dash about his staffs lack of efficiency. I understand we all get very busy during a lunch rush but it should not take an hour to make it to plain grilled cheese sandwiches with Munster cheese on them. I am not going to hold my door Dash driver accountable for how late my sandwiches are when it was the restaurants fault with what happened. Poor customer service on there part the manager should have acted differently about the situation.. It’s now 2:09 and our food has finally been passed off to the door dasher. I really hope the manager sees this and realizes that the only reason why he has the position he has today was because of customer service and hard work he put in. you don’t get to the top and then stop working for the people who pay your bills. I will order from independence from now on. You lost a family of customers. Update. Food arrived hot. However they “forgot” the fries and the eggplant on my sandwich. So I called back again and the manager apologized and said he’s going to send me a gift card. I really appreciate that but it’s a simple fact of don’t tell me that you’re going to get an order ready correctly and then it gets here and my kids fries are missing. The extra time should’ve been put in to making sure that my order was correct

We ordered the chicken Paprikash melt sandwich and the kelbassi pierogie melt sandwich. Both sandwiches were overcooked and very dry. They both could used a lot more sauce.

Went with the family and finally tried the challenge. I have never lost a challenge until now. The sandwich was a lot of dry cheese. The coleslaw was very dry and I have never had spicy slaw. The fries were very very salty. I must have drank 3 gallons of water the rest of the day. Afterwards others tried my fries and slaw and were surprised I ate as much as I did. Workers were all great but the food is a fail compared to Lakewood Melt.

I've been wanting to eat at Melt for years and we finally made it yesterday for my birthday. We were seated immediately and our server was informative and pleasant. We ordered the Spinach Artichoke Dip as an appetizer but it was very disappointing. Mostly spinach, not very cheesy. It just had a weird taste. Initially, our server said that since we didn't eat much of it she had checked with the manager about taking it off our bill, but they didn't. My mom took it home, but doubt it will get eaten. We were very impressed with the size of the sandwiches and they were all very good. I had the Dude Abides, my mom had the Mushroom Melt (and actually thought it had chopped steak on it from the taste) & my husband had the Lake Erie Monster. The fries could have been hotter and crisper but they had a decent taste. We all took home half of our sandwiches, we just couldn't eat it all. All in all, a good experience but we felt dinner for 3 with no alcohol for $70 was a bit pricey for sandwiches. I'll probably come back but it's a bit too expensive to make it a place I would frequent.

Great service again... can’t wait for tmnt melt as a full time meal...keep it up and bring melt to the sandusky area not just at cedar point...

The food was absolutely delicious. It was hot, fresh, and tasted great. Our service on the other hand was terrible. Our server kimberly was rude, and never visited our table. Drinks took 20 minutes, taking our order took 40 minutes. I had to go to the bar for more beers and refills. And at the end she just dropped the receipts off and left, never said a word to us. My advice, go back to melt, but if Kimberly is your server, ask for someone else.

Ugh. I have been to both the Lakewood and Cleveland Heights Melt and both times were amazing, but yesterday my boyfriend and I went to the Avon Melt and were so disappointed. The waiter who was incredibly rude took our order and an hour later we still didn’t have our food, then we seen the waiter look at us and walked away from us, 15 minutes later we had our food. Also I asked for no tomato in my salad and on my sandwich, and when my food came out there were big chucks of tomato in my salad. I think the next time I was Melt I will go to the Lakewood location

I ate at the Lakewood location years ago and it was great. Today I went to the Avon location for the first time. All of our meals were so dry that some of us didn’t eat much. Even the fries were dry. Kinda disappointed because I’ve been wanting to go for so long.

Ugh. Disappointing to say the least. The vibe is all wrong. Instead of being the hip indie type feel that made the original Lakewood location so great, you feel like you're walking into any other suburban chain place. It was cold, not in temperature but in ambiance. The food portions seemed smaller and the same care didn't seem to go into it. The server was uptight and slow. I guess for the soccer moms it's a place they can feel on the cusp of cool which will make it successful in that location but my crew will keep going to Lakewood. It's worth the drive and wait.

Walked in and told it would be 10 minute wait although several tables were empty. Waiter was not knowledgeable of any questions we asked about the food was told our food would be out in 15 minutes a half an hour later we finally got our food. Was told several times he was coming back to fill our drinks never came. Lo and behold my plate had a nice big hair on it. Manager came to my table and told me that they wear hats and hair nets but occasionally a hair will sneak in . Was really not impressed with this place it was my first time and will probably never go back. We were in Avon location.

The service was great and the macaroni cheese bites were amazing!!! I was not to keen on the waffles and chicken because there was way too much breading. My waffles were cold but they took that off my bill. The time spent with my girls was an amazing blessing!!! The cheesy bacon fries were mouth watering delicious!!! So much food we brought it home for today🤣🤣 definitely will go back💕

With a name like melt you would think they would give you a great grilled cheese sandwich. 3 inches of bread and and two slices of cheese- a joke! Very disappointed!

Service was great.. food overrated. Atmosphere was meh (open and cold; lacked ambiance). I got the kindergarden; it was not that good. I'm not a fan of that thick bread without any butter. Seemed way over priced for bread and cheese. I wish you could pick your bread. Bacon on sandwich was chewy and undercooked. I love bacon but it should be crispy and compliment the sandwich - not over take it. I also got the garlic tomato soup and though I love garlic there was just way too much it made the soup hard to finish. My French fries were cold, dry, old. Not fresh. The fried pickles were great. So was our server. I'm not eager to go back but would if friends wanted to go.

Yesterday was my first time and I love it! The food was great, loved the fries and our server was great and very sweet! Ill definitely go back

The food was great as always but the waitress wasn't very friendly or prompt, charged me $1.50 for French onion sauce that I never got and I asked to get it removed from my bill and she said okay and proceeded not to remove it. I love melts food and have been to 3 other locatations this one by far needs some friendlier servers to make it more enjoyable like the other locations.
