This place loses a star because of the lasagna. Probably one of the worst ones I've ever tried.

We visit this restaurant frequently because it’s close to home. We love the atmosphere and the food is good. The reason I’m giving it a 5 star but sometimes there is a lack of attention to detail and not enough staff in the bar. (Typical post Covid issues). Eloise is top notch so we tend to go there during her times of working to ensure we get good service.

Very slow service. Took about 1 hour and 45 minutes from start to finish. It was not busy,so maybe short staffed in kitchen? My meal (pictured) was quite good. My son had a seafood pasta that had a sauce tasting like lightly flavored water. His $3 lemonade sat nearly untouched because it was too hard to drink. Reminiscent of a lemon shake up at a carnival, but way more sugar. The bread and dipping oil was fantastic!

Visited on NYE and had a great time. The kid at the front desk wasn't the friendliest but our waitress and the ladies behind the bar were great. Ordered the shrimp cocktail and it wasn't great, but the bread and oil they bring were phenomenal. For entrees I had the Filet Medallions with Lobster Risotto and my wife had the Chicken Marsala - both very good. The steak was cooked properly but the risotto was pretty under seasoned. The roasted tomatoes were definitely needed - the acid pop they provided was on point. Highly recommend the Woodford Old Fashioned - really good! We will definitely be back.

I was searching for a place to celebrate our anniversary and found out Charbonos and we made a reservation as it was a Friday evening and this place was full. There is ample of parking spots in the front of the restaurant. The place is pretty big and have ample of seating available inside. Once you will enter the restaurant there is waiting area on the right of the reception and some seatings on the left side. There are tables and booth to choose from and we got a booth in my opinion the booths are little cramped so if I will go next time I will choose the table to sir and also preferably choose the seating in the back of the restaurant as where we were seated there is a open workarea for the staff but in my opinion that's a eye soar to me personally, it should be covered in someway as it was taking away the overall premium feel of the place. Now let's come to the service and food which was excellent, our server was very friendly and the chef did an amazing job and the food was amazing. We ordered chicken velvet soup to start with and Burrata for appetizers, they also serve the fresh bread which is one of the best bread I have had in a while. In main course we ordered steak frites and rigatoni which was cooked with perfection and a must try if you visit this place. And finally for dessert we ordered chocolate brownie which was a perfect way of ending the night. I loved the place and definitely recommend it.

Waited an hour for a menu at the bar. The gentleman that came in after me order and finished his pizza before I had a chance to order. My beer sat empty for 10 minutes before I asked for another. Need to get the bartenders help. If that means the manager becomes a bar back then the manager becomes a bar back. The food was legit. Steak frites, Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, and their bread and oil, all ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. The service was ⭐. The beer was 3 inches of foam.

My husband and I decide to give this place a try… I was extremely disappointed!
1. Apple pork chop … was informed by the manager after it was sent back that It’s prepared at medium by the chef as the standard. The waitress did not inform of this prior.
2. Glass was broken near our table. The glass hit our legs and I had to request the glass to be clean up so I wouldn’t get pieces in my shoes.
The other food was pretty tasty… but my overall experience was horrible. I don’t plan to ever return.

Very delicious food! I opened up to some new things here and wasn't disappointed! It's a pretty penny, but in my opinion it's very much worth it! It's hard to get a 5 star out of me, but I think Charbonos is deserving every time I go. The service has been great, on top of the food!

The food was hardly warm and brought by another waiter. My steak was overcooked and by the time my waiter brought me a kitchen knife, A1 sauce and ketchup my food was cold. I chose fries and salad as a side and they over charged me 2$. Apparently they put house salad instead of regular salad without my consent. But at least the salad was good. I will never go there again. Definitely not worth the price. 20$ for a sirloin steak and 2 sides is excessive. I absolutely don't recommend this restaurant, it's an absolute waste of time and money.

Our experience at Charbonos was outstanding! The food was excellent. We celebrated a birthday and the manager, Spencer, was attentive and kind and our server, Laura, was so fun! She made the difference between a good time and a great time. We will return.

I’m usually a big fan of Charbonos, but the food was very sub par tonight. (January 27, 2018). I ordered their Devour Indy Filet Mignon special and it was so disappointing. The mashed potatoes were cold, and almost tasted like instant. There was no flavor whatsoever. I also received 4 semi warm pieces of asparagus. The filet was cooked medium rare, but was really charred on the outside, which gave it a burned taste. I had to use A1 steak sauce to give it flavor, and I NEVER use steak sauce. I got the “free” dessert to go, and we jokingly thought they had forgotten to put the dessert in the container because it felt so light. We opened it to check, and there was about a 1” square piece of chocolate cake. It was laughable. On a positive note, the salad was pretty good!

I’ve had Thanksgiving with my Mom here the past two years & have been very impressed! Food is just as good if Mom fixed it herself. A bit disappointed in having no pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving, but I would recommend eating here at any time!

Went for lunch and ordered the Lasagna. Portion size was small for $13. Ingredients didn’t taste very fresh and it looked kinda dried out. Wife ordered the tuna melt and she was very pleased with it. I will still patron the restaurant but likely won’t order the lasagna again.

We had a family celebration in their private dining room....food, service, and venue were PERFECT! I could not be happier. We had a group of 16 and really enjoyed our meal and time. I think this is a hidden gem on the west side.

Wow, how this restaurant has fallen. Signature house salad missing items- but was still ok. Entree totally awful. Walleye was dry and tasteless. Broccoli must have been soaking in tepid water before being served. The Parmesan potatoes were the only redeeming part of the meal. My wife's meal was fine- she did not have the walleye. 50 bucks wasted. Never again.
