The colaches are delicious, and the people working in the cafe are wonderful. The variety is fabulous at this spot, and visiting this place for breakfast is great.

They use to be the Kolache Shoppe on Burnet and has since moved to Mesa Drive. I remember going to their burnet storefront back in college 15 years ago and loved their sticky buns and cinnamon twist. I would drive out of my way to get some. They’ve been around for 45 years and know what they’re doing.
Their new location has pizza. They make their dough and pizza sauce. Came here on a Friday and they have $1.50 slices of pizza after 11am. Their specialty pizzas were good but a tad over toasted. Their kolaches were just as delicious as I remember. The dough was nice and fluffy and the salt they sprinkled around the edge of the fruit kolaches made it the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Most kolaches shop have to warm up their kolaches but these were so fresh they were still pillowy soft at room temp. The owner and staff were very friendly.

This place is a hidden gem! The pizza by the slice was absolutely wonderful. Very well seasoned, thinner crust style, and the slices are huge! Great value and super convenient for when you’re craving pizza but don’t want a whole pie.

Delicious pizza! The herbal seasoning blend and the higher quality of the ham and pepperoni toppings really stood out to me. We’ll have to come back for kolaches sometime!

TLDR: Great morning breakfast stop
The layout/location is pretty typical for a donut/kolache shop. very limited seating, glass case in the front, small cooler of drinks on the side, etc. It's not super comfortable, but places like this cater more with to-go orders anyways, so no big deal.
I had a Jalapeno sausage and cheese Klobansek and a Kolache (not pictured). Both were very good. the bread was fluffy and tender, and the filling on both of theme was great.
I also got an iced latte. one word of note on this is that it looks like all they have is a consumer level expresso machine, so the turn around time is much slower than at a traditional coffee shop. If you are here, sure grab one, but solely based on time, I wouldn't recommend coming here just for the coffee.

Very friendly staff and great cinnamon rolls and danish's will come back again. Oh and sorry no pic of cinnamon rolls they didn't last lol.

So glad I stumbled upon this gem now located near Northwest Hills. No longer will one have to venture over mopac to get a delicious kolache. David was awesome and the service was quick.

Solid Kolaches, Friendly Service. Leave feeling happy.
My wife and I have walked to this location from our house several times and have not been displeased in the least. Fresh baked bread. Great filling ingredients. Good coffee. We're slowly working our way through the display case, but the cinnamon rolls are killer!
Just what this neighborhood needed!

For my first trip to Austin Kolache I went overboard and got a little bit of most of the baked goods and they did not last long when I got home. So glad y'all moved into the neighborhood and I have a new place to walk to for some breakfast goodies and more.

The pizza was delicious! Had the margherita. The crust is crisp and not too thin. Just right!

Let me stay off by saying I've had a lot of kolaches and these are the best ones yet.
The staff here are all wonderful and they have a fantastic variety of sweet and savory kolaches. I'm personally prefer savory kolaches, so this review is entirely based on that part of the Kolache Shoppe.
The location is unassuming and rather hidden away, but if you find this gem it's worth making the trip for.
Unlike most kolache places the meat in these kolaches are proper sausages sourced from the Hudson Meat Market. They have Venison, if you get in early enough, and standard sausages. All the kolaches are filled with premium ingredients which you can tell.
The venison come in two varieties: plain and jalapeno cheese. The pork have three: plain, cheese, and jalapeno cheese.
The dough is just the right combination of sweet to go with the savory! Overall this place is amazing and every time I come into town I make sure to stop in.

The story is that Kolache Shoppe on Burnet closed because they’re developing the land, so now they’re here at 8127 Mesa. So happy to have them! Kolaches are better than ever and the pizza store that’s hosting them looks great too.

My new favorite kolache place! Friendly, down to earth staff. The kolaches were some of the best I've ever had. The bread is perfect. They truly know what they're doing. We tried a little bit of everything, but the bacon popper was by far my favorite. And the cinnamon twists are SO good. We also got some coffee, and it was excellent as well! We went too early to try any pizza, but judging by the other reviews, I can't go wrong there either. Looking forward to my next visit!

Mannnnnn.....awesome place for kolaches. This place is kind of hidden in a small shopping center so you have be on the look-out (you cannot see it from Burnet Rd). But they have a wide variety of kolaches, from savory to sweet. In addition, they bake sticky buns/cinnamon rolls on the weekends. The bread for the kolaches is so soft/fresh. The owner/baker knows what they are doing. If you don't believe me you soon will!
(Picture - Ham and Cheddar kolache. This bad-boy is pretty big and you only need 1 to fill you up!)

Went there, cashier was super friendly and chatted me up, bought three kolaches, every one amazing! My only suggestion... you got pizza, you got kolaches... pizza kolaches? 😋

Delicious fresh kolaches, fast and friendly service. A grab and go shop, not really for sitting and visiting.
