La Matta - Austin - Photo album

It's hard to beat bread made from scratch, same-day. Not to mention homemade basil pesto, great atmosphere, friendly service, and high-quality meats and cheeses! Sandwiches avg about $10-$13, but well worth it! Parking is difficult, but worth the extra walk to get here.
Atmosphere: Italian sidewalk cafe, upscale casual Service: Gracious and efficient counter service Food: Sandwichwmes, salads, antipasto and dessert offerings. The #3 panini is fantastic with prosciutto, buttery mozzarella, and arugula on fresh crusty bread. Pricing: $13.00 for sandwich alone
I had a very good fresh mozzarella cheese, tomato, and basil sandwich. The bread was great; a thin crispy layer outside and warm and chewy inside. I also purchased a loaf of bread to take home. Glad this place is in my neighborhood!
I’ll admit the sandwiches here are pretty tasty 👍🏼. This is coming from someone who doesn’t normally eat cold sandwiches. The ambience is really nice too. All of the staff are friendly and there are plenty of windows and light to fill the inside, and surprisingly lots of room on their patio. The onl
Excellent paninis. Ingredients are fresh and the bread is great. La Matta is a perfect lunch spot on the east side.
Such a cute little spot, felt very welcomed here. Their cheeseboard was incredible, we especially loved their roasted nuts, pistachios, and the crostini!
Fantastic lil sandwich shop across the street from the White Horse. Freshly baked bread combined with fresh greens and Italian cuts make for a damn tasty sandwich.
LOVE this place. The sandwiches and salads are all wonderful and the ingredients are simple and fresh. I am currently obsessed with the kale and burrata salad. Also, the service is always friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a stop if you are looking for a more authentic feeling Italian cafe. Ke
This breakfast panini costs $4.50, and tastes incredible. This place rocks
Delicious food! The bread has the perfect crunch and soft center and the sandwiches are fantastic. I highly recommend the eggplant sandwich. The olive spread is nutty, salty and brings everything together. I'll be back many times, maybe to buy some charcuterie plates to go too!
The best sandwich I've ever had! You can tell the ingredients are gourmet and fresh. I was thoroughly impressed. It was a little slow and the staff sat with us and showed us how to play an Italian card game. It felt like I was in Italy. I would recommend this to anyone that wants authentic Italian f
Perfect lunch place! Friendly staff and quick service. Bread is amazing... I even bought some to go.
Wow love this place! Great location close to many other places of interest. Limited but tasty menu. Clean restaurant with lots of natural light. I didn’t sit on the patio but it looked nice. The staff was so friendly. I told the person at the register Elise that I didn’t know what I wanted and asked
Great tasting sandwiches and salads, great service, and a great place to chow down. Their wines on tap are also very tasty. Not too pricey for it being downtown. They validate parking in the parking garage they are connected to which is awesome. Definitely will be coming back.
Came here twice during our visit to Austin. Great lattes and delicious food in a lovely space.
Great sandwiches. AMAZING bread. Friendly staff.
Love this salad, cheese and sandwich place. Ingredients are fresh and rich. The breads are out of this world. And there is a genuine Italian flair to the place. Excellent service by a truly charming staff. Good beer, a perfect lunch place.
Can't beat a simple sandwich that uses fresh ingredients. Love the paninis #3 and #4 although I substitute basil pesto for the tartar sauce. And the fresh bread, it's what dreams are made of! It's a bit on the pricier side but so worth it for the quality.
