Review Hay Elotes - Austin

Ricardo Ramirez
Hay Elotes has consistently had great service and food throughout all the years I’ve been going there. It is the best place in Austin to get authentic Mexican snacks. They use white corn, and that alone is the biggest reason to only go here for elote, and nowhere else. The frozen mangonada is also amazing.

The elotes, agua nieves and nachos are super good. They have a variety of antojitos to satisfy all kinds of cravings.

The raspas, drinks and mangonadas are so darn good! You have to try it. Other than that... just because the snacks/food is great I'm giving this a 4 star. Doesn't get a 5 because the staff is not welcoming or nice! The ladies were rude and very dry. They are just there to give you what you want and that's it. Makes me not want to go to be honest. I'd think again to returning

Love this place for the occasional sweet, tangy, sour, cold summer treat. Also, great for elotes!

I order from here using a delivery app all the time. I can’t resist. Their elotes are addictive. I love u guys.

Judging from the crowd that’s always attracted to Hay Elotes you’d expect authentic Mexican Street corn but it it ends up feeling like you could make it yourself with a couple of big cans of corn and jalapeños from Costco.

Very small location, walk in order get your food and pay, just that simple. Service was fast. Food was and fresh. Ther are a few tables outside to sit.

Came here for some authentic Mexican sweets and was overwhelmed with many options. I ultimately decided on the Fresas Con Crema which are strawberries in a sweet cream and it came with Granola which was complimentary. Overall it tasted pretty good, it was a huge portion. I was satisfied with the speed and the customer service, i'd come back again!

So Delish! Had the elote cup....very authentic. We had the mango liquado, the limón king and the mangolicious. All hands down delicious! Ladies behind the counter very sweet and helpful! Definitely will be back!

You've seen those ads for "Edible Arrangements", right? This is, kinda like that, except super-fun instead of vaguely embarrassing. The menu is on the wall, pick one of the items at random. And if you have any spanish, it'll come in useful - you can find out what you're actually getting! (A word of warning - if it is more than $6, it's probably *huge*, one of the items is basically most of a pineapple, and that isn't the largest part of the dessert!) Mind you, there will be some chilli-powder like stuff thrown in somewhere - never fear, it actually works quite well! Oh, also, be prepared for long lines in the summer - you might end up having to wait up to an hour :-)

Pleasantly surprised with this little hole in the wall. Very unassuming spot with yummy Mexican desserts. They recommended the mango hill for our first dessert here and it did not disappoint.

My favorite go-to elote place that taste like the ones from my hometown. I hope they make another location in south Austin! I'd be there 5x a week!!

Very generous portions! The employees were really nice and worked fast! Great spot for an afternoon snack after a day outside :)

I was really surprised with this place. The prices are not to overly price like all of Austin is. The portions and topping amount are appropriate for what you get. Tastes almost as if I got it straight from a puestecito in mexico. Sitting outside to eat it in the cold really made me feel almost home. Overall a very lovely experience, I'm glad I found my spot after almost 3 years living here.

As soon as you walk in, you're hit with the smell of delights. They have varieties of cold treats that includes mangonadas and shaved ice. I get the usual mangonada, along with the birria tacos that a lovely woman made in the yellow food truck, just outside of Hay Elotes. The only thing I would like to critique is that the mangonada is a bit watered down, but it still has that mango flavor. Overall, this place is a must for hangouts and/or a special treat for yourself!

It’s delicious, reasonable prices, good costumer service, great sitting area, and the elites are good, not a fan of the ice creams here but everything else I do recommend

Fui a comprar una escamocha y la papaya está agria, el plátano está negro, no tiene nada de sabor, no le pusieron miel las fresas están aguadas y echadas a perder y el teléfono no lo tienen el servicio uno no se puede comunicar con ellos.

Love this place. The long line on the weekends is worth it. We drive all the way from Kyle just to get elotes and mangonadas

I have been here 3 different times now. All 3 time it has been a disappointment. Today at 6pm I went there were 2 people working. I was the 9 person in line. YES, 9 and there were 8 people behind me. One of the ladies to take her break I guess, cause she got a plate and went to sit down. With 17 people waiting. That one lady was working as hard as she could but after 14min I had to leave without anything.

Was my favorite place until today! The fruit was hot, the mango ice cream was extremely melted by the time it was handed to me. I'm pregnant and totally ruined my "cravings". My daughters snow cones fell apart as soon as she pulled the spoon out & I even asked for flat top. There was no more ice cream for my other daughter..... Just a mess!!!!!

The fruit in my piña loka was all bad I didn't even eat it it completely grossed me out wasn't like that when they first opened tho so .. it sucks now don't recommend!!

I didn't like the corn, it was my first time there and was expecting it to taste better. The service was nice but I'd rather have homemade elotes.
