Thaikun - Austin - Photo album

I’ve walked by this place so many times (it’s easy to miss) and finally tried it out for dinner with some friends - WOW this place is amazing! Their Thai food has so much flavor done in a modern twist. Trust when their menu labels something as spicy as the food is HOT but yummy. Don’t sleep on their
A nice Thai place in the domain. I tried their fried chicken skin, pad see ew with pork, and crab rice. Their chicken is really crispy and comes with a sauce that is slightly sweet. It taste just like pork rinds. The pad see ew was nothing special. The crab rice is good. The rice isn’t as flavored a
Service was quick and efficient, food took a little bit longer to come out, but that was because it was made so fresh. The crab fried rice, Excellent! The pad see ew had great flavor. Definitely a great spot for Thai food in the Domain.
Panang curry, while good was not really Panang... Pad see ew was way too sweet. Crab fried rice was under season but did have lump crab. Papaya salad was good with a nice kick.
The food here was delicious! It definitely went beyond my expectations. They do not kid around here with spice and the quality of the food was really good. This is a rare instance of Thai food that feels elevated and high quality. I’m so excited to have an authentic Thai restaurant with a unique men
I have been waiting for a year to try the fish at your restaurant, and finally, I got the chance to taste it. It lived up to all my expectations. As for the downsides, I would like to mention that the cocktails were not alcoholic enough and there was too much ice. I hope you will fix this in the ne
Enjoying this place during our outing at the Domain. Great atmosphere and location. Unique food and very flavorful. Not many Asian restaurants offer a whole fish ;)
Had amazing meal, the service was great. Our server was very attentive, kind and efficient. The food was delicious. I had the Pad Ka Prow and I will be dreaming of this for the next several days. Last but not always the ambience was great. Clean, cozy yet felt upscale as well. I will definitely be r
Chicken skins and chicken wings were delish. I felt like the crab rice lacked a little flavor. Will be back to try more.
Ordered Chicken Skins, Wonton and Shrimp Pad Thai. Everything was sooo good. The Boom sauce is delicious! Staff was friendly and service was fast. Glad I found this early in my business trip because I will be back!
Food here is really flavorful, but the spicy stuff is freaking spicy. I thought I could handle the pad ka prow but it was too hot for me. I know it takes away from the authenticity but I do wish chef was more accommodating to spice levels. If that’s your thing this place is probably heaven.
Snapper fish is awesome and overall food is OK. The staff is friendly and he goes through menu as for the first timer of our visit. Quite a crowd at Sat lunch hour. Price is on the higher side.
One of the best Thai restaurants with a unique flavour of spice. The whole fish fried served with spicy sauce and vegetables with white rice is just perfect. Caution is the price point for this dish. You really want to experience a shared plate worth $90 then this is for you. All other dishes were
Like a lot of places they are having staffing issues. However the food is flavorful and the service is decent. The Menu is limited but the food came out fast. The Papaya salad is surprisingly spicy. The Crab fried rice is really good.
Crispy Coconut sticky rice was my favourite amongst all. Rest all were decent enough to eat like chicken wings with white rice was worst, also priced way high than normal Thai restaurant. Ambience is good since it’s on Domain streets.
Thai Kun has been on my list for a long time, and I’m so glad I finally went! I’ve already made it a goal to go back and eventually try everything on the menu, it’s THAT good! The atmosphere is fun, upbeat and bright; the staff were awesome and super friendly! Shout out to our waitress Kelsey, who
Amazing well cooked dishes. I’ve been here multiple times and I always forget to take pictures. The pork dish with rice, (sorry I forgot the name of the dish!) had complex flavors - there was the fish sauce, the toasted rice, the spice, all married together in each wonderful bite. Edit 1/20/23 one
I enjoyed the special spring rolls, which were done cold and thin and thus easier to taste. I had the panang curry as well, which was proportioned really well. The vegetables stood out impressively, an indicator of great technique. The fifth star is solely due to the curry being a bit too salty. I f
