Review La Patisserie - Austin

Ariyada Vadasz
I think they better use the phrase "inspired by." These pastries are fresh and well-made. As for authentic, no. The beignet and almond croissant are close but not quite. The crobrios as original creations are delicious and balanced out by a cup of black coffee. The aesthetic is again inspired by a French cafe-small, artistic and looks like it's family-owned. I don't know if it is or not, but that's the vibe.

This French pastry shop is a great spot to enjoy some delicious desserts and Parisian pastries. It's a cozy place to catch up with a friend over coffee. We tried their coffee and eclairs and they were really tasty, with a yummy filling and topping. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you're a dessert lover!

Great, delicate macaroons nestled amongst a busy area. Super aesthetic decor, and right next to the Welcome To Austin mural. Grab a treat and a photo in one space.

Being a tourist, I stumbled across here while snapping a pic of the Austin mural. Very cute shop, with plenty of charm. I came in and got a coffee which was nice and strong, and some macaroons for later. I forgot about the macaroons and didn’t eat them until the next day but they were still delicious. Hadn’t dried out at all and were full of flavor. I highly recommend stopping in to get to your fix while you are in the area.

Mmmm! So good! When you are in Austin, and after you have taken that obligatory photo of the ‘Greetings from Austin’ mural at Roadhouse Relics, do yourself a favour and stop here and treat yourself. The iced coffee and the crobrio were simply awesome! Sitting on the large patio, basking in the early morning sun was equally enjoyable!

During our trip to Austin while checking out the “Greetings from Austin” mural we saw this cool macarons shop, La Pattiserie, macarons were really tasty, I just wish they had more variety and yes.

We happened to come across this little cafe when checking out the mural next door. I’m glad we stopped in because the little macarons and pastries were amazing.

My parents come to visit me from Algeria, we stop at this beautiful shop and the lady was super gentle with us ( from Lille). Back home we like a French pastries. So sweet your lemon tarte and good millefeuille.

Super cute bakery. I was craving ice cream that day but still went inside to check it out. Very clean and perfect spot for pictures and social media posts. They had a variety of desserts available and the employee was attentive! I'd come back to try some of their food next time we visit.

I love that I found this place! I was visiting Austin and wanted to take a picture of the Austin mural and saw this adorable bakery next to it. I decided to check It out and the macaroons are some of the best I’ve had! I love the building which drew me into the place. The staff were so kind and friendly and I love supporting local small businesses. Definitely check this place out!

La Patisserie is a cute little bakery that represents the charm and appeal of Austin that draws people to the city. It is also located next to the Austin mural for those who are visiting and want to take a nice photo. Inside they have a wide selection of baked goods, both sweet and savory. I ordered an orange macaron sandwiched with a layer of cream filling and coated with candied orange peels. I can’t remember the exact name, so if anyone happens to know please help me out because I would order 5 more of these easily. The macaron texture was perfectly chewy which paired well with the light but sturdy cream. The candied orange peels were probably some of the best I’ve ever had and tied the entire dessert together very well. The mouthfeel when taking a bite was extremely satisfying, and after eating it I didn’t feel too heavy like I would with other desserts which I really appreciated. Overall I really enjoyed my visit to La Patisserie and would happily recommend everyone to stop by and grab a treat (or 5).

This is a cute pop up pastry shop close to “welcome to Austin” mural. The lady who runs this place is such a delightful person to talk to. This place is known for its macaroons but since I’m not a big macaron person, I went for the croissants and boy were they good!! We took the chocolate almond and pistachio croissant and the Opera cake. The croissant 🥐 were the show stoppers for sure!

I have to update my previously glowing review. The last two times I came in to try their CroBrio, aka Cronut, it was not good. I don't know what happened, but it tastes totally wrong now, and not anything like a cronut. The inside was super soft, the dough was tasteless and again barely any custard. Cronuts should be slightly crispy or flaky on the inside. The entire concept was a donut with the texture of a croissant, and when done right, they taste amazing. The first time really was amazing, but the last two, not so much. This was over the course of a couple weeks. Maybe they have a problem with consistency or something, or this was a new baker. I don't know, but, I'm not interested in trying these again. oh well.... I guess the hunt continues for cronuts in Austin. Luckily, they have some other items which taste consistently good like their caramel éclair. I've had these a couple times and they have been amazing every time. I also found a new item which I also like. Their Raspberry Rose Lychee Ispahan. An Ispahan is kind of like a giant macaron, which they also have a selection of incidentally. -- original review: One morning I woke up and had an intense craving for a cronut. Cronuts are like a cross between a donut and a croissant, with a custard filling in the middle. Did Austin even have cronuts? I did an search and here we are... They can't call them cronuts since the name is probably trademarked, as is kronuts, so they call them CroBrio instead. Which is weird, since I'm not even sure what that stands for, but I'm sure it sounded great when they thought it up. Whatever they call them, they were awesome! And exactly what I needed to fulfill my urgent medical cronut need. As an added plus, this location looks super snug and cute with an laid back outdoor patio, and local neighborhood vibe.

This cute French bakery is right next to the famous Austin postcard mural, not that you need another reason to visit it. It's small but filled with delectable goodies. Everything we tried was pretty good but the lavender macaroons deserve a special mention. There is a small room that you can eat in if it's too hot outside, although the setup outside is spot on. Pro Tip - Bakery items are 50% off after 3pm

My friend and I shared three croissants and a coffee. The croissants and coffee were so good, and the red-haired barista was so nice and cheery this early in the morning!

The bakery treats here are DELICIOUS!!! I came with my boyfriend, and we got their vanilla bean macaroon along with croissant. The macaroon was amazing, and the croissant, while simple, was delicious :) I definitely will be coming back here as they offer quiche, tart cakes, and more.

Had some pastries there which were extremely tasty :)! Would definitely recommend.

The baked goods are mediocre and the space is uncomfortable. There's really nothing about this place worth stopping for when Austin offers so many remarkable local bakeries.

The vegan zucchini bread is to die for! Will definitely be back to try more treats.

Macaroons were hard and chewy. Flavor was good, but pretty disappointed with them overall. They probably would have been great if they were fresh.

Best macarons and lovely owner! I love all of her pastries and her macaron-making class is fantastic.

Perfect, quaint spot for lunch. Delicious croissants!!

Awful service and treatment of customers. I was not even able to make a purchase because of how rude the employee working was to me. Appalled that this is the service I received from such a highly recommended spot by friends and online.

Loved it! The macarons were delicious! The staff was nice also!

This has become one of my favorite spots in Austin. It's so cute and cozy, and I love that it's kid-friendly as well. Not to mention the to-die-for pastries and beverages. LOVE!
